And now let’s look at the face and heel roster.

Faces: Big Boss Man, Brutus Beefcake, Dusty Rhodes, Hercules, Hillbilly Jim, Jake Roberts, Jim Brunzell, Jim Duggan, Jimmy Snuka, Koko B. Ware, Paul Roma, Roddy Piper, The Red Rooster, The Ultimate Warrior, Tito Santana, Tugboat

Face Tag Teams: Demolition, The Hart Foundation, The Rockers, The Bushwhackers

Heels: Akeem, Bad News Brown, Dino Bravo, Earthquake, Hulk Hogan, Mr Perfect, Randy Savage, Rick Martel, Rick Rude, Ted DiBiase, The Barbarian, The Brooklyn Brawler, The Genius

Heel Tag Teams: Rhythm & Blues, The Bolsheviks, The Colossal Connection, The Orient Express

So with that in mind, let’s see what I can do with this card.

Tito Santana vs. Rick Martel

Original Wrestlemania Match: Tito Santana vs. The Barbarian, Rick Martel vs. Koko B. Ware

Booking: This match seems like a no-brainer. At the previous year’s Wrestlemania we saw the end of Strike Force but we never got a singles blow-off on pay per view between the two. So one year on it makes perfect sense to end this rivalry between these two former partners. For me, Rick Martel is the bigger star at this stage and the man with the bigger future so he deserves the victory. It certainly wouldn’t be clean though.

Result: Rick Martel wins by pinfall.

The Colossal Connection (Andre The Giant & Haku) (c) vs. Demolition (Ax & Smash) – WWF Tag Team Championship match

Original Wrestlemania Match: This was the match that went down at Wrestlemania.

Booking: This match made a lot of sense at the time. The Colossal Connection were the champions and needed strong opponents to take the belts off them. Demolition were perfect for that role and would take the titles away from the champions before Andre The Giant turned babyface after the match.

Result: Demolition win by pinfall.

Tugboat vs. Earthquake

Original Wrestlemania Match: Earthquake battled Hercules on the card whilst Tugboat wasn’t featured.

Booking: I changed Earthquake’s opponent on this show from Hercules to Tugboat. I think Earthquake and Tugboat would have made for a better opponent and we’d have seen a battle of the big men. Earthquake was the bigger star at the time and when you look at the mid to upper card at the time there was a need to build up the heels to use as future opponents to Ultimate Warrior and Hulk Hogan so it makes sense for Earthquake to pick up the win.

Result: Earthquake wins by pinfall.

The Hart Foundation (Bret Hart & Jim Neidhart) & Brutus Beefcake vs. Dino Bravo, Bad News Brown & The Barbarian

Original Wrestlemania Match: The Hart Foundation squashed The Bolsheviks, Brutus Beefcake beat Mr Perfect, Dino Bravo lost against Jim Duggan, Bad News Brown drew with Rowdy Roddy Piper and The Barbarian beat Tito Santana.

Booking: I think this match brings six wrestlers together in a more interesting match than splitting them apart. The way I’d book it is to have Bad News Brown leave, much like he often does in tag team matches, leaving Dino Bravo and The Barbarian high and dry. Brutus Beefcake then gets the pinfall against Dino Bravo.

Result: The Hart Foundation & Brutus Beefcake win by pinfall.

Jake “The Snake” Roberts v Ted DiBiase

Original Wrestlemania Match: This match was the original booked match.

Booking:  Ted DiBiase won this match by count out at Wrestlemania VI and it was the second longest match of the night. I like that booking and I would keep it exactly the same at this show.

Result: Ted DiBiase wins by countout.

The Bushwhackers (Luke & Butch) vs. Rhythm & Blues (Honky Tonk Man & Greg Valentine)

Original Wrestlemania Match: Although these teams were featured in a segment together, neither team actually wrestled at Wrestlemania VI.

Booking: This would be a bit of comic relief following the Dibiase/Roberts match. I would have Rhythm & Blues win this match with help from Jimmy Hart’s megaphone. The Bushwhackers would then get their heat back after the match, knocking Honky Tonk Man and Greg Valentine out of the ring and celebrating in front of their fans.

Result: Rhythm & Blues win by pinfall.

Big Boss Man v Akeem

Original Wrestlemania Match: This match replicates what happened at Wrestlemania VI.

Booking: The Big Boss Man won this match in less than two minutes at Wrestlemania VI. I would definitely give them more time, maybe five or six minutes but in the end the result is the same.

Result: The Big Boss Man wins by pinfall.

The Rockers (Shawn Michaels & Marty Jannetty) vs. The Orient Express (Sato & Pat Tanaka)

Original Wrestlemania Match: This match is also what went down at Wrestlemania VI.

Booking: This was a good match between two high-flying teams with a lot of chemistry. I would keep the match on the show, it was a good showcase for the two teams. The Orient Express won the match by countout but I’m going to change that result and give this one to The Rockers. They have more potential and need a big win at this stage to give them a little momentum.

Result: The Rockers win by pinfall.

Rowdy Roddy Piper vs. Mr Perfect

Original Wrestlemania Match: Originally, Piper went one on one with Bad News Brown and Mr Perfect lost to Brutus Beefcake.

Booking: I think this match is much bigger than the two matches these men actually had at Wrestlemania. This is a really hot babyface and a really hot heel and a match that I would have loved to have seen at this time. It’s really hard to call a winner though. Mr Perfect is undefeated at this point in time but Roddy Piper doesn’t do jobs easily. I think we get a draw from these two men.

Result: Double countout.

Dusty Rhodes v Randy Savage

Original Wrestlemania Match: Originally we saw Dusty Rhodes & Sapphire against Randy Savage and Sherri Martel.

Booking: I feel that this rivalry really deserved a singles payoff between the two. I like Sapphire and Miss Elizabeth being in Dusty Rhodes corner and Sherrin being in Savage’s corner. In the end though it’s Dusty Rhodes with the big win.

Result: Dusty Rhodes wins by pinfall.

Jim Duggan vs. Rick Rude

Original Wrestlemania Match: Originally Rick Rude beat Jimmy Snuka and Jim Duggan beat Dino Bravo.

Booking: Again, this is a match that feels much bigger than the matches we got at Wrestlemania. I would book Rick Rude to win this one but I don’t think Jim Duggan should lose cleanly. I think he’d lose his temper and use his 2×4 giving the DQ win to Rude.

Result: Rick Rude wins by disqualification.

Hulk Hogan (c) v Ultimate Warrior (c) – WWF Championship vs. Intercontinental Championship

Original Wrestlemania Match: This was of course the actual main event of the show.

Booking: No changes from me, this match goes down exactly as it did at Wrestlemania VI.

Result: The Ultimate Warrior wins the WWF Championship.
