1986 Super Card

Welcome to my second ever Super Card.

Like my previous Super Card post, I am going to analyse the four PPV’s held by WWF and WCW in 1986 and put together a Super Card based on the matches booked that year. I say four, technically it’s a five show year as there were two Great American Bash events. My only rule is that I cannot select a wrestler twice.

The PPV’s I am wading through are Wrestlemania II, NWA Great American Bash 86 (Charlotte & Greensboro), WWF The Big Event, and NWA Starrcade 86.

In the end I have settled on a ten match card. This may seem like a lot but there were a total of 55 matches to choose from over the 5 shows so they were averaging 11 matches a night.

The most difficult matches to choose between were the Hulk Hogan main events, King Kong Bundy or Paul Orndorff? And which of Ric Flair’s main events? I had Ricky Morton, Nikita Koloff or Dusty Rhodes to pick from there. Ronnie Garvin had three good matches, two of those were against Tully Blanchard and the other against Big Bubba. The Road Warriors had classics against the likes of The Midnight Express and The Russians.

I am happy with how my card turned out, so let’s go check it out.
