Stat Pack Vol 16

Welcome everybody to the 16 installment of my stat packs! This one is the first one since main stays Bret Hart and The British Bulldog have gone. It’s also the last one that Shawn Michaels would have contributed to for a while. If you’ve not read one of my stat packs before, expect stats and facts on wrestlers, pay per view, match ratings, win percentages and much much more. Last time I put out a stat pack Shawn Michaels was WWF champion, he’s now lost that to “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. Austin was Intercontinental champion after the last stat pack, which was published right after Survivor Series 97. That title now belongs to The Rock. Tag Team champions were the Legion Of Doom and now they belong to The New Age Outlaws. This stat pack covers all of the WWF PPVs from the original Wrestlemania all the way through to Mayhem In Manchester, one week after Wrestlemania 14. Let’s go to the stats.

Year Ranking

1. 1998* (64.2)
2. 1996 (58.8)
3. 1997 (58)
4. 1994 (57.8)
5. 1992 (52.8)
6. 1995 (52.37)
7. 1993 (51.5)
8. 1990 (50.75)
9. 1989 (50.5)
10. 1991 (49.8)
11. 1987 (47)
12. 1988 (46)
13. 1985 (40.5)
14. 1986 (39.5)

1998 has kicked off with a bang. The Royal Rumble event and Wrestlemania 14 have already gone down as my second and third best PPVs of all time in my opinion. No Way Out is also in the top 10. I couldn’t rate Mayhem In Manchester so that sits at the bottom of the list with no rating. 1997 finishes just behind 1996 for the overall yearly ranking and as it stands 1998 is comfortably at the top. Canadian Stampede holds on to its title as best PPV so far.

Most PPVs Wrestled On

1. Bret Hart (57)
2. Shawn Michaels (54)
3. The Undertaker (49)
4. The British Bulldog (48)
5. Owen Hart/The Blue Blazer (44)
6. Jake “The Snake” Roberts (28)
7. Hulk Hogan (27)
8= “Macho Man” Randy Savage (25)
8= Goldust/Dustin Rhodes (25)
10= Tito Santana (24)
10= Marty Jannetty (24)
10= Savio Vega/Kwang (24)
10= Jacques Rougeau/The Mountie (24)

This list has gone from a top 10 to a top 13 interestingly. What’s even more interesting is that the three new entries have all wrestled under 2 names. The top 2 stay the same but The Undertaker leapfrogs The British Bulldog. Goldust is the highest new entrant, he’s wrestled one match as Dustin Rhodes and is joint with Randy Savage in 8th. Tito Santana and Marty Jannetty are now joint in 10th with Savio Vega, who wrestled two matches as Kwang and Jacques Rougeau who wrestled half his career as The Mountie. There is still a big gap between 5th and 6th, it’ll be interesting to see who will be the one to bridge that gap.

Most PPV Matches

1. Bret Hart (63)
2. Shawn Michaels (55)
3. The Undertaker (51)
4. The British Bulldog (49)
5. Owen Hart/The Blue Blazer (47)
6. “Macho Man” Randy Savage (31)
7= Jake “The Snake” Roberts (29)
7= Hulk Hogan (29)
9= Tito Santana (27)
9= Goldust/Dustin Rhodes (27)
9= Savio Vega/Kwang (27)

The top 10 on this list has gone up to 11 following the 80th WWF PPV. The top 5 are the same on this list as the one above. Once against The Undertaker has leapfrogged The British Bulldog. Hart and Michaels are done for the time being, giving everyone else a chance to catch them up. The top 8 are made up of the same guys as in the last Stat PAck, it’s the bottom position that has changed. Tito Santana is in joint 9th with Goldust/Dustin Rhodes and Savio Vega/Kwang. As a result, Ted Dibiase has dropped off this list with 26 matches not being quite enough to cut it.

Highest Win Percentage (2+ matches)

1. Max Mini 100% (3 matches)
2= Mr T 100% (2 matches)
2= The Jumping Bomb Angels 100% (2 matches)
2= Nova 100% (2 matches)
5. Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat 80% (10 matches)
6. The Ultimate Warrior 79% (19 matches)
7. Taka Michinoku 75% (4 matches)
8. Hulk Hogan 72% (29 matches)
9. The Steiner Brothers 66.6% (6 matches)
10= Tama 66.6% (3 matches)
10= Brian Pillman 66.6% (3 matches)
10= Chainsaw Charlie 66.6% (3 matches)

It’s become harder to get on this list as wrestlers now need 66.6% as opposed to 60% on the last Stat Pack. Max Mini is now alone in the number 1 spot having won all three of his PPV matches. That drops Mr T and the Jumping Bomb Angels down to joint second alongside midget performer Nova who has won 2 matches as Max Minis partner. Steamboat and Warrior drop a position whilst Taka Michinoku is a new entry at #7 following wins over Brian Christopher, Pantera and Aguila. Everyone below Taka drops two positions except Chainsaw Charlie who is a new entry in joint 10th.

Most Wins

1. Bret Hart (35)
2. The Undertaker (29)
3. The British Bulldog (25)
4. Shawn Michaels (24)
5. Owen Hart (22)
6. Hulk Hogan (21)
7. “Macho Man” Randy Savage (18)
8. The Ultimate Warrior (15)
9. “Stone Cold” Steve Austin (14)
10= The Legion Of Doom (13)
10= Razor Ramon (13)

None of the list so far have had an actual top 10 and this one is no different. For this we have a top 11. The first difference from the last stat pack is that Owen Hart has leapfrogged the immortal Hulk Hogan into the top 5. Randy Savage and The Ultimate Warrior keep their positions but we have a new number 9 in “Stone Cold” Steve Austin who has won matches on the last 6 PPVs consecutively. Razor Ramon just keeps his spot on this list, joint with new entrants The Legion Of Doom. On the last list, it was a case of getting 11 wins to get on this list, it now takes 13. You’ll notice that we have the same top 5 for most PPV appearances, PPV matches and most wins in Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, The Undertaker, British Bulldog and Owen Hart.

Most Draws

1. Shawn Michaels (5)
2= Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake (3)
2= British Bulldog (3)
4= “Mr Wonderful” Paul Orndorff (2)
4= Bad News Brown (2)
4= Don Muraco (2)
4= Mankind (2)
4= Vader (2)
4= Yokozuna (2)

No changes to this list with Shawn Michaels leading the way for draws. Amazing that only 9 wrestlers have drawn two or more matches on PPV.

Most Losses

1. Bret Hart (27)
2. Shawn Michaels (26)
3. Owen Hart/The Blue Blazer (24)
4. Tito Santana (22)
5= The Undertaker (21)
5= The British Bulldog (21)
5= Jake “The Snake” Roberts (21)
8. Marty Jannetty (20)
9= Goldust/Dustin Rhodes (19)
9= Hercules (19)
9= Crush (19)

Another list of 11 for this one. The top 4 are the same as on the last stat pack except now Owen Hart has crept above Tito Santana. The Undertaker has jumped up from joint 8th to joint 5th, joint with Jake Roberts and The British Bulldog. Jannetty, Crush and Hercules have all fallen down a spot and Goldust is a new entry to this one with his 19 losses. Interesting that a guy like Hercules is still on this list having not had a PPV match in over 6 years.

Highest Loss Percentage

1. Koko B.Ware 100% (11 matches)
2. Boris Zhukov 100% (7 matches)
3= Adam Bomb 100% (6 matches)
3= Skinner 100% (6 matches)
5= Leif Cassidy 100% (5 matches)
5= Ron Bass 100% (5 matches)
5= The Bezerker 100% (5 matches)
8= Barry Windham 100% (4 matches)
8= Leilani Kai 100% (4 matches)
8= Ken Patera 100% (4 matches)
8= Paul Diamond (Max Moon/Kato) 100% (4 matches)

This list is exactly the same as the last stat pack. Only Barry Windham is on the current roster but he hasn’t had a PPV match since Survivor Series. Steve Blackman is only one loss away from getting on this list.

Most Main Events

1. Bret Hart (24)
2= Shawn Michaels (21)
2= The Undertaker (21)
4. Hulk Hogan (20)
5. Diesel (12)
6. “Macho Man” Randy Savage (10)
7= The British Bulldog (9)
7= Yokozuna (9)
9. Sid (8)
10= The Ultimate Warrior (7)
10= “Stone Cold” Steve Austin (7)

Another top 11 for this list. The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels have gone from 3rd and 4th respectively to joint 2nd, dropping Hulk Hogan down from 2nd to 4th. The only other difference made to this list is Stone Cold Steve Austin being a new entry and sitting in joint 10th with The Ultimate Warrior. Austin has main evented the likes of Wrestlemania 14 against Shawn Michaels and Mayhem In Manchester against Triple H. Only Austin and The Undertaker are on the current roster so expect more changes to come on this list.

Top Rated Matches

1. The Hart Foundation vs. Team Austin – IYH: Canadian Stampede (9.5/10)

2. Leif Cassidy vs. Tiger Ali Singh – One Night Only (1.75/10)
3= Paul Orndorff vs. Tito Santana – Wrestling Classic (2/10)
3= Fabulous Moolah vs. Velvet McIntyre – Wrestlemania II (2/10)
3= Uncle Elmer vs. Adrian Adonis – Wrestlemania II (2/10)
3= Corporal Kirchner vs. Nikolai Volkoff – Wrestlemania II (2/10)
3= Tony Garea vs. Ted Arcidi – The Big Event (2/10)
3= Haku vs. Don Muraco – The Big Event (2/10)
3= Adrian Adonis vs. Junkyard Dog – The Big Event (2/10)
3= Jake Roberts vs. Andre The Giant – Wrestlemania V (2/10)
3= Demolition vs. Tenryu & Kitao – Wrestlemania VII (2/10)
3= Jake “The Snake” Roberts vs. Jerry “The King” Lawler – Summerslam 96 (2/10)
3= Mosaic & Tarantula vs. Max Mini & Nova – Badd Blood 97 (2/10)

Absolutely no changes to the two lists above. No matches on the last five PPVs have been good enough or bad enough to feature in either the best matches of all time or worst.

Tag Teams With Highest Win Percentage (2+ matches)

1. The Natural Disasters 100% (4 matches)
2. The Steiner Brothers 100% (3 matches)
3= The Iron Sheik & Nikolai Volkoff 100% (2 matches)
3= Men On A Mission 100% (2 matches)
3= The Brain Busters 100% (2 matches)
6. The Headbangers 80% (5 matches)
7. The Legion Of Doom 77% (13 matches)
8. Owen Hart & Yokozuna 75% (4 matches)
9. The Nasty Boys 66.6% (3 matches)
10. Demolition 60% (5 matches)

 This list is just for two on two tag team matches up to fatal four way tag matches. I don’t include multi man or battle royals. There is a bit of a change to this list, The Headbangers have risen to 80% after beating Goldust and Marc Mero at No Way Out. As a result they have risen to 6th on this list, dropping everyone below them down a spot. The Legion Of Doom have gone from 80% to 77%.

Tag Teams With Highest Loss Percentage (2+ matches)

1= Strike Force 100% (2 matches)
1= The Bolsheviks 100% (2 matches)
1= The Blu Brothers 100% (2 matches)
4. The New Age Outlaws 75% (4 matches)
5. The Godwinns 70% (10 matches)
6= Money Inc 66.6% (3 matches)
6= Power & Glory 66.6% (3 matches)
6= The Beverley Brothers 66.6% (3 matches)
6= The Dream Team 66.6% (3 matches)
6= The Quebecers 66.6% (3 matches)

There are quite a few changes to this list. It now takes a 66.6% loss record as opposed to 60%. The top 3 stay the same but now in 4th place is the New Age Outlaws who have had 4 matches in the last 5 PPVs and only won 1. The Godwinns have won their last two tag team matches, against The Quebecers and DOA so fall down to 5th. The Quebecers are now on the list due to losing two of their three tag team matches.

Highest Average Match Rating (2+ matches)

1= Cactus Jack (7.66)
1= Chainsaw Charlie (7.66)
3. Ric Flair (7.14)
4. Hakushi (7.06)
5. Aldo Montoya (7)
6. Kane (6.8)
7. “Stone Cold” Steve Austin (6.75)
8. Kwang (6.75)
9. Taka Michinoku (6.68)
10. Dean Douglas (6.66)

I always find this list fascinating. Cactus Jack and Chainsaw Charlie are new entries right at the top of the list. They’ve had good matches at Royal Rumble, No Way Out and Wrestlemania. Ric Flair drops down from 1st to 3rd as a result. Hakushi falls from 2nd to 4th and Aldo Montoya who has Royal Rumble matches to thank for his high spot also drops two places. Kane is a new entry in at #6 and Steve Austin rises from 9th to 7th. Kwang, who has only competed in Royal Rumble matches on PPV drops from 5th to 8th and Dean Douglas drops from 8th to 10th. Taka Michinoku is a new entry in at #9 after some phenominal showings as of late. Kama, D-lo and Shawn Michaels all drop off this list. The minimum requirement to get on this list has gone from 6.55 to 6.66.

Lowest Average Match Rating (2+ matches)

1. Corporal Kirchner (2.5)
2. Adrian Adonis (2.85)
3= Velvet McIntyre (3)
3= Fabulous Moolah (3)
5. Rockin Robin (3.5)
6. Judy Martin (3.58)
7. Recon & Sniper (3.625)
8. Tama (3.66)
9= Leilani Kai (3.75)
9= Nailz (3.75)
9= Billy Jack Haynes (3.75)

In this day and age, match quality has improved a lot so you don’t get many changes to this list. However this is a subtle change this time round. Max Mini was 2nd on this list on the last stat pack after a few bad matches but the 6 man tag he was involved in at the Royal Rumble 98 was actually quite entertaining and so he has vanished from this list completely. There are a couple of new entrants in Recon and Sniper who were involved in a poor Survivor Series match in 97 and the uninspiring battle royal at Wrestlemania. They sit right between Judy Martin and Tama.

Bastions Top 10

1. Bret Hart (24162)
2. The Undertaker (19688)
3. Shawn Michaels (17972)
4. The British Bulldog (15644)
5. Hulk Hogan (15331)
6. Owen Hart (14262)
7. “Macho Man” Randy Savage (11988)
8. “Stone Cold” Steve Austin (10150)
9. The Ultimate Warrior (9629)
10. The Legion Of Doom (8209)

A lot of people have their own way to decide who are the top 10 wrestlers of all time and this is mine. It’s a complex formula that bears in mind match ratings, main events, win percentages and much more. The Undertaker has clawed a little closer to Bret Hart in this one but he’s still quite far off. The top 7 actually stay the same on this list with the first change coming at #8. Steve Austin is a new entry in that position which drops The Ultimate Warrior down to 9th. The Legion Of Doom have also done enough to leap from Razor Ramon into 10th which means it’s The Bad Guy that falls off this list.

Top 10 Title Reigns

1. Diesel – 1st World Heavyweight Title Reign
2. Shawn Michaels – 1st World Heavyweight Title Reign
3. Owen Hart & The British Bulldog – 1st Tag Team Title Reign
4. Hulk Hogan – 1st World Heavyweight Title Reign
5. The Undertaker – 2nd World Heavyweight Title Reign
6. Yokozuna – 2nd World Heavyweight Title Reign
7. Bret Hart – 3rd World Heavyweight Title Reign
8. Rocky Maivia – 1st Intercontinental Title Reign
9. Shawn Michaels – 1st Intercontinental Title Reign
10. Demolition – 1st Tag Team Title Reign

For the second stat pack in a row this list stays exactly the same. Demolition props up the list with only two PPV defences to their name. It’ll be difficult to top Diesel who has an awesome year long run as WWF champion. With title changes more frequent nowadays, it’ll be difficult to crack the top 10.

Most Matches Managed

1. Jimmy Hart (64)
2. Mr Fuji (40)
3. Paul Bearer (39)
4. Bobby Heenan (37)
5. Jim Cornette (30)
6. Slick (23)
7. “Million Dollar Man” Ted Dibiase (21)
8. Miss Elizabeth (18)
9= Marlena (15)
9= Chyna (15)

There are a couple of changes to this list since the last stat pack. Paul Bearer now finds himself on the podium, over taking Bobby Heenan and sitting right behind Mr Fuji. The rest is the same except for Chyna who is a new entry, joint 9th with Marlena and replacing Harvey Wippleman on this list.

Highest Managerial Success Rate (2+ matches)

1. Miss Elizabeth 77.77% (18 matches)
2. Jose Lothario 77.77% (9 matches)
3. Diesel 66.6% (3 matches)
4. Chyna 60% (15 matches)
5. Paul Bearer 59% (39 matches)
6. Sensational Sherri 50% (12 matches)
7. Frenchy Martin 50% (6 matches)
8= “Superstar” Billy Graham 50% (2 matches)
8= Bob Backlund 50% (2 matches)
8= Mr Perfect 50% (2 matches)
8= The Fabulous Moolah 50% (2 matches)
8= “Classy” Freddie Blalssie 50% (2 matches)

This list is a list of 12, much like the list on the last stat pack and it’s the same 12 managers as before. Chyna’s win record has gone down from 75% to 60% so she drops from 4th to 3rd. Paul Bearer has gone from 61% to 59% but stays in the same position. The rest stays exactly the same.

Highest Managerial Loss Rate (2+ matches)

1. Hillbilly Jim 100% (6 matches)
2. Uncle Zeb 100% (3 matches)
3= “Cowboy” Bob Orton 100% (2 matches)
3= Kim Chee 100% (2 matches)
3= Oliver Humperdink 100% (2 matches)
6. Luna 87.5% (8 matches)
7. Harvey Wippleman 85% (13 matches)
8. General Adnan 80% (5 matches)
9. Diana Smith 75% (4 matches)
10. Clarence Mason 73% (11 matches)

Most of the managers on this list are heels, except for the one at the top. Hillbilly Jim is comfortable at the top having no winning matches from 6. Luna is the one to drop having finally managed Goldust to a win. She drops to 6th as a result. The rest stays exactly the same.
