Welcome everybody to the 16 installment of my stat packs! This one is the first one since main stays Bret Hart and The British Bulldog have gone. It’s also the last one that Shawn Michaels would have contributed to for a while. If you’ve not read one of my stat packs before, expect stats and facts on wrestlers, pay per view, match ratings, win percentages and much much more. Last time I put out a stat pack Shawn Michaels was WWF champion, he’s now lost that to “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. Austin was Intercontinental champion after the last stat pack, which was published right after Survivor Series 97. That title now belongs to The Rock. Tag Team champions were the Legion Of Doom and now they belong to The New Age Outlaws. This stat pack covers all of the WWF PPVs from the original Wrestlemania all the way through to Mayhem In Manchester, one week after Wrestlemania 14. Let’s go to the stats.

1998 has kicked off with a bang. The Royal Rumble event and Wrestlemania 14 have already gone down as my second and third best PPVs of all time in my opinion. No Way Out is also in the top 10. I couldn’t rate Mayhem In Manchester so that sits at the bottom of the list with no rating. 1997 finishes just behind 1996 for the overall yearly ranking and as it stands 1998 is comfortably at the top. Canadian Stampede holds on to its title as best PPV so far.

This list has gone from a top 10 to a top 13 interestingly. What’s even more interesting is that the three new entries have all wrestled under 2 names. The top 2 stay the same but The Undertaker leapfrogs The British Bulldog. Goldust is the highest new entrant, he’s wrestled one match as Dustin Rhodes and is joint with Randy Savage in 8th. Tito Santana and Marty Jannetty are now joint in 10th with Savio Vega, who wrestled two matches as Kwang and Jacques Rougeau who wrestled half his career as The Mountie. There is still a big gap between 5th and 6th, it’ll be interesting to see who will be the one to bridge that gap.

The top 10 on this list has gone up to 11 following the 80th WWF PPV. The top 5 are the same on this list as the one above. Once against The Undertaker has leapfrogged The British Bulldog. Hart and Michaels are done for the time being, giving everyone else a chance to catch them up. The top 8 are made up of the same guys as in the last Stat PAck, it’s the bottom position that has changed. Tito Santana is in joint 9th with Goldust/Dustin Rhodes and Savio Vega/Kwang. As a result, Ted Dibiase has dropped off this list with 26 matches not being quite enough to cut it.

It’s become harder to get on this list as wrestlers now need 66.6% as opposed to 60% on the last Stat Pack. Max Mini is now alone in the number 1 spot having won all three of his PPV matches. That drops Mr T and the Jumping Bomb Angels down to joint second alongside midget performer Nova who has won 2 matches as Max Minis partner. Steamboat and Warrior drop a position whilst Taka Michinoku is a new entry at #7 following wins over Brian Christopher, Pantera and Aguila. Everyone below Taka drops two positions except Chainsaw Charlie who is a new entry in joint 10th.

None of the list so far have had an actual top 10 and this one is no different. For this we have a top 11. The first difference from the last stat pack is that Owen Hart has leapfrogged the immortal Hulk Hogan into the top 5. Randy Savage and The Ultimate Warrior keep their positions but we have a new number 9 in “Stone Cold” Steve Austin who has won matches on the last 6 PPVs consecutively. Razor Ramon just keeps his spot on this list, joint with new entrants The Legion Of Doom. On the last list, it was a case of getting 11 wins to get on this list, it now takes 13. You’ll notice that we have the same top 5 for most PPV appearances, PPV matches and most wins in Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, The Undertaker, British Bulldog and Owen Hart.

Another list of 11 for this one. The top 4 are the same as on the last stat pack except now Owen Hart has crept above Tito Santana. The Undertaker has jumped up from joint 8th to joint 5th, joint with Jake Roberts and The British Bulldog. Jannetty, Crush and Hercules have all fallen down a spot and Goldust is a new entry to this one with his 19 losses. Interesting that a guy like Hercules is still on this list having not had a PPV match in over 6 years.

Another top 11 for this list. The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels have gone from 3rd and 4th respectively to joint 2nd, dropping Hulk Hogan down from 2nd to 4th. The only other difference made to this list is Stone Cold Steve Austin being a new entry and sitting in joint 10th with The Ultimate Warrior. Austin has main evented the likes of Wrestlemania 14 against Shawn Michaels and Mayhem In Manchester against Triple H. Only Austin and The Undertaker are on the current roster so expect more changes to come on this list.

There is a bit of a change to this list, The Headbangers have risen to 80% after beating Goldust and Marc Mero at No Way Out. As a result they have risen to 6th on this list, dropping everyone below them down a spot. The Legion Of Doom have gone from 80% to 77%.

There are quite a few changes to this list. It now takes a 66.6% loss record as opposed to 60%. The top 3 stay the same but now in 4th place is the New Age Outlaws who have had 4 matches in the last 5 PPVs and only won 1. The Godwinns have won their last two tag team matches, against The Quebecers and DOA so fall down to 5th. The Quebecers are now on the list due to losing two of their three tag team matches.

I always find this list fascinating. Cactus Jack and Chainsaw Charlie are new entries right at the top of the list. They’ve had good matches at Royal Rumble, No Way Out and Wrestlemania. Ric Flair drops down from 1st to 3rd as a result. Hakushi falls from 2nd to 4th and Aldo Montoya who has Royal Rumble matches to thank for his high spot also drops two places. Kane is a new entry in at #6 and Steve Austin rises from 9th to 7th. Kwang, who has only competed in Royal Rumble matches on PPV drops from 5th to 8th and Dean Douglas drops from 8th to 10th. Taka Michinoku is a new entry in at #9 after some phenominal showings as of late. Kama, D-lo and Shawn Michaels all drop off this list. The minimum requirement to get on this list has gone from 6.55 to 6.66.

In this day and age, match quality has improved a lot so you don’t get many changes to this list. However this is a subtle change this time round. Max Mini was 2nd on this list on the last stat pack after a few bad matches but the 6 man tag he was involved in at the Royal Rumble 98 was actually quite entertaining and so he has vanished from this list completely. There are a couple of new entrants in Recon and Sniper who were involved in a poor Survivor Series match in 97 and the uninspiring battle royal at Wrestlemania. They sit right between Judy Martin and Tama.

A lot of people have their own way to decide who are the top 10 wrestlers of all time and this is mine. It’s a complex formula that bears in mind match ratings, main events, win percentages and much more. The Undertaker has clawed a little closer to Bret Hart in this one but he’s still quite far off. The top 7 actually stay the same on this list with the first change coming at #8. Steve Austin is a new entry in that position which drops The Ultimate Warrior down to 9th. The Legion Of Doom have also done enough to leap from Razor Ramon into 10th which means it’s The Bad Guy that falls off this list.

For the second stat pack in a row this list stays exactly the same. Demolition props up the list with only two PPV defences to their name. It’ll be difficult to top Diesel who has an awesome year long run as WWF champion. With title changes more frequent nowadays, it’ll be difficult to crack the top 10.

This list is a list of 12, much like the list on the last stat pack and it’s the same 12 managers as before. Chyna’s win record has gone down from 75% to 60% so she drops from 4th to 3rd. Paul Bearer has gone from 61% to 59% but stays in the same position. The rest stays exactly the same.
