Welcome everybody to the 20th Stat Pack I have written and produced. Do you know what that means? It means I have now reviewed the first 100 WWF/WWE PPVs. That’s some going. If you haven’t read a Stat Pack before then it’s an on-going cumulative record of stats, facts and records as I continue through the journey of WWE’s history. This one includes all the stats from the very first Wrestlemania through to Unforgiven 1999. 5 new PPVs are added to the list and it has had a determental affect on 1999’s overall rating. 1999 has dropped below 1994 on average PPV ratings which is really bad when you consider the roster back then. The best PPV of the last 5 was Summerslam which is ranked as the 21st best PPV of all time to this point. Really the second biggest show of the year should be doing better than that. The lowest ranked was Unforgiven which, despite it’s great main event, could only go in at 77th out of 100. 1999 really hasn’t been a patch on 1998.

Well, the top 5 stay exactly the same for this but The Undertaker has a bigger lead than he did on the last Stat Pack and The British Bulldog moves one PPV closer to Shawn Michaels. Billy Gunn is in 6th on his own now as Austin missed one PPV in the last 5. Mick Foley moves above Goldust and Triple H has drawn level with his long time rival. The top 10 for this remain the same 10 men as the previous stat pack and now because there have been 100 PPVs it’s easier to work out percentages! Owen Hart is the only one of these ten who will never wrestle a PPV match again but he should be safe on this list for a good couple of years.

This list looks a lot like the last one except for the addition of The Rock. He joins Goldust at the bottom of the list and if you’re wondering why he’s on this list and now the previous one, it’s because of his great performance in tournament like at Survivor Series 98 and King Of The Ring 98. The only other changes to this list as Billy Gunn leapfrogging Austin and Foley into 6th place and Triple H rising up a place to 9th. The gap is ever closing between 5th and 6th although with the British Bulldog back on th roster it might make it tougher to catch.

A big female showing on this list, from Ivory, Nicole Bass, The Jumping Bomb Angels and Sable. Max Mini is still top of the list but Shane McMahon has dropped out and is replaced by Ivory and Nicole Bass. That drops Ricky Steamboat, Ultimate Warrior and Sable down a position and Tiger Ali Singh falls off the list completely. What’s interesting about the top 7 is that it’s made up of Mini’s, Women and celebrities. Ricky Steamboat and Ultimate Warrior are the only male full sized full time wrestlers in the top 10 which makes you think.

This list has the same top 10 as the same list on the last Stat Pack. There are no changes to the top 3 except The Undertaker who has added 3 more wins to his tally. Steve Austin may have only won one PPV match in his last 4 but that wins put him up to joint 4th with the British Bulldog. Billy Gunn is the big riser, winning 5 matches on the last 5 PPVs, putting him up to 7th. Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage both drop a place and Triple H’s latest 2 wins puts him up to joint 9th. The Road Dogg, Rock and Mick Foley are all very close to getting on this list.

We have a few changes to this list but like the last Stat Pack it takes 20 PPV losses to get on it, equating to one loss in every five PPVs. The Undertakers one recent loss puts him up to joint second with The Hitman. Bulldogs lost at Unforgiven puts him in joint 6th with Tito Santana. Mick Foley jumps to joint 8th with Jake Roberts and Billy Gunn is the only new entry to the list, joint with Marty Jannetty following losses in tag team action with Chyna and a Summerslam loss to The Rock.

We have a top 11 for this list now and I’ll tell you why shortly. Steve Austin is up into third, he leapfrogs Hulk Hogan and Shawn Michaels after closing four of the last five PPVs. He’s only one main event away from catching Bret Hart now. Mick Foley claims 6th spot as his own now after main eventing Summerslam 99 & Unforgiven 99. The British Bulldog catches Randy Savage with 10 main events and we have a new entry in the form of The Rock. He has now main evented 9 PPVs including most recently Unforgiven 99 and King Of The Ring 99, neither of which he won.

There is just on new addition to the above lists and surprisingly it’s to the lowest rated matches. Ivory vs. Tori at Summerslam goes in at joint 3rd with a lowly 2 out of 10. A really disappointing bout between possibly the two best womens wrestlers in the company right now. Everything else stays the same.

The tag team division is just starting to heat up in the WWF with teams such as The Hardy Boyz, Edge and Christian, The Acolytes and the Holly Cousins all taking centre stage but none of them have managed to crack this list yet. Thr only change comes with the New Age Outlaws, who have recently got back together and recorded a win over Edge and Christian, leapfrogging The Legion Of Doom into 8th. Those two teams have had more matches togehter on PPV than any other team in history to this point.

There is just the one change to this list and that’s Edge and Christian going straight in at joint first. They’ve lost matches to the Hardy Boyz and New Age Outlaws so continue to look for their first win. The Blu Brothers and Skull & 8 Ball are both the same people (Ron & Don Harris) but under different gimmicks. Nikolai Volkoff features on this list and the one above but I’ll leave you to find him on this one.

This list always makes me smile. It’s a top 10 of best average match ratings and it’s not exactly who you’d expect to be on it. Like the last list, Vince McMahon sits atop of it. He’s main event at King Of The Ring with Shane against Steve Austin helped that. Chyna not only drops down from second but drops off the list altogether and is replaced in second by Chainsaw Charlie. The Hardy Boyz are new entrants in joint third, they’ve put on some really good matches over the last few months. The next five remain the same men in the same order. But in tenth, replacing Kane and The Godfather is Shane McMahon who’s matches against Austin and Test give him a place on this list.

There are a couple of new additions to this list in the form of Ivory (2nd) and Tori (6th). They have had a couple of stinkers on PPV recently and it’s put the cats right amongst the pigeons. It now means that this list is 60% women, no offence. Those two additions mean Tama and Leilani Kai are bumped off the list, something they would be happy with.

This top 10 is pretty much exactly as you’d expect. Bastions Top 10 is a special formula that combines matches wrestled, won, match ratings and main events. To me if shows who has been the most important superstars to WWF PPV history. The top 7 are exactly the same as the last Stat Pack in the same order. Steve Austin climbs ever closer to Bret Hart but he’s not quite there yet. Bulldog has also got a higher points total. Billy Gunn has gone from 10th to 8th, leapfrogging both Mick Foley and “Macho Man” Randy Savage who has fallen off the list completely. Mick Foley stays in 9th place and in 10th is a new entry in The Rock.

This is a brand new list. The ten most important women in WWF PPV history. Sable is top of the list and she has had the most PPV matches of the women and has a great win percentage. Alundra Blayze was the star of the Womens division for so long. Nicole Bass is a bit of a surprise but she did win both her PPV matches. Luna is in there, she’s had her PPV matches against the likes of Sable and Ivory. The undefeated Jumping Bomb Angels make up the top 5. Chyna is in 6th although all of her matches have been in the mens division. Sapphire has had one match, a mixed tag team match at Summerslam 90. Ivory is a new diva on the scene and slots in at 5th whilst Alundra Blayze’s old enemies Aja Kong and Bertha Faye prop up the list.

In 1999 WWF there are title changes every week. Decent title reigns just don’t happen anymore. Ken Shamrock’s Intercontinental Title reign was the last one to make this list, a reign that ended in early 1999. I still like the fact that this list is made up of completely different superstars. Some of the best of all time are on this list but it doesn’t change from the last Stat Pack.

There’s a couple of changes to this list as Paul Bearer and Chyna switch places. Bearer has managed The Undertaker and Big Show to a couple of wins recently whilst Chyna has managed Triple H to a loss. This switches them whilst Debra is a new entry following her success with Jeff Jarrett. She is a new entry to this list dropping Jarretts former manager Tennessee Lee off the list completely.

Another top 10 without much in the way of change. Ivory goes joint second with Uncle Zeb after managing D-lo and Mark Henry to another loss. This one to X Pac and Kane. Everybody else stays the same mainly in part to the lack of managers these days.
