You Control – The fate of Raw superstars, the World Heavyweight Championship, and the Course of History! Fan interaction is the name of the game tonight and every single match tonight will be influenced by the fans of WWE. The World Heavyweight Championship will be defended tonight but Triple H does not know who his opponent will be. The fans will be choosing between Shawn Michaels, Edge and Chris Benoit. Michaels actually beat Christian to get his shot. The three challengers wrestled a triple threat match the previous night on Raw in a match that Edge won, pinning Chris Benoit whilst holding onto the ropes. In that match Shawn Michaels injured his knee but is still able to be voted on to battle Triple H tonight. The two men not voted in to fight Triple H will get a shot at the World Tag Team Championships held by La Resistance.

The other main event tonight pits Randy Orton against Ric Flair. Orton was given an opportunity to get into the main event picture but was beaten by Batista with help from Ric Flair. Orton has told Flair that all he will be known by from the current generation of fans is Triple H’s lap-dog. Flair claims that Orton isn’t a true legend killer until he defeats the biggest legend in the game, himself. A match has been made for tonight with the stipulation for Randy Orton vs. Ric Flair being decided by fan vote. The three match types are Submission, Falls Count Anywhere or Cage. This has got cage match written all over it. Another match stipulation to be decided tonight is for diva search finalists Christy Hemme and Carmella. The two will meet tonight after having some harsh words for another on Raw over the past couple of weeks. The fans will have to decide between an Evening Gown Match, a Lingerie Pillow Fight or an Aerobics Challenge.

The Intercontinental Championship is set to be defended but Chris Jericho doesn’t know who his opponent will be. The fans will have to vote on who they want between: Batista, Shelton Benjamin, Rhyno, Tajiri, Christian, Tyson Tomko, The Hurricane, Rosey, Val Venis, William Regal, Chuck Palumbo, Rodney Mack, Steven Richards, Maven and Jonathan Coachman. All of the Raw titles will be defended tonight as Trish Stratus will defend her Women’s Championship in a battle royal against Stacy Keibler, Victoria, Molly Holly, Nidia, Gail Kim and Jazz. The fans will be voting on the outfits the divas will be wearing between Schoolgirl, French Maid and Nurse Outfits.

Kane will go one on one tonight with the man who caused Lita to have a miscarriage in Gene Snitsky. Snitsky has said on many occasion that it wasn’t his fault but Kane is blaming Snitsky and the two will meet tonight in a weapon of choice match. The three weapon that the fans can vote on are a lead pipe, a steel chair or a chain. Snitsky was parading around the ring with a baby buggy just to wind up Kane either further. Also tonight will see Eric Bischoff go up against his nephew, Eugene. Vince McMahon made the match between the two and for the loser comes a forfeit. The lower will either have to be the winner’s servant for a month, wear a dress or get their head shaved bald.

So let’s get to it.

In a dark match prior to the show Sgt Slaughter defeated Muhammad Hassan.

A video package kicks off Taboo Tuesday letting everybody know that they have control tonight. This feels like a big deal and they are letting you know so.

Jim Ross welcomes us to Taboo Tuesday, he’s joined by Jerry Lawler of course. The set has a big keyboard on the stage. We throw to Coach who is in the “control centre”. The 6 divas then walk out who are involved in the “fulfil your fantasy” battle royal tonight. We find out that they will be dressing up as school girls tonight.

The divas leave and out comes Chris Jericho as he will be defending his Intercontinental Championship against 1 of 15 candidates. It’ll most likely be Batista, Shelton Benjamin, Christian or Coach. Others include Chuck Palumbo, Rhyno, The Hurricane, Rosey, Rodney Mack, Maven, William Regal, Tajiri, Tyson Tomko or Stevie Richards. Val Venis is out due to injured he suffered at the hands of Kane. Shelton Benjamin is the popular vote in the arena. Shelton Benjamin wins with 37% of the votes!

Chris Jericho (c) vs. Shelton Benjamin – Intercontinental Championship Match

It’s a first time meeting between these two men on pay per view. Shelton is excited to be in this match. Batista was in second place in case you were interested. Jericho hits an arm drag in the early going and then Benjamin hits a couple of his own. The crowd definitely seem like they’re behind Jericho in this one. Jericho hits a couple of big knife-edge chops and then Benjamin back body drops Jericho out of the ring. Shelton hits a baseball slide and then throws Jericho back into the ring for the first near fall of the night. Shelton applies a chinlock and then rams the champion into the corner. Jericho hits a big boot and an enzeguri for a near fall before hitting a side suplex and dropping a couple of elbows. Jericho hits a suplex and steps on Benjamin for a one count.

Jericho hits a backbreaker and turns it into a submission. This is Jericho’s 63rd pay per view match, he now goes joint 8th of all time with Bret Hart. Benjamin hits a sunset flip for a two count but Jericho is first up and nails Benjamin with a clothesline for a near fall. Jericho is 6th of all time currently for most PPV losses with 35. A 36th loss tonight would put him on a par with Shawn Michaels who will be in action himself tonight. Benjamin hits a big superplex and both men are down. Jericho is first up and the two men slug it out. Benjamin hits a big clothesline, a back body drop and a spinning heel kick for a near fall. Jericho reverses an Irish whip and then hits a bulldog before missing with a lionsault. Shelton goes up top and then dives off with a big clothesline for a two count. Benjamin then misses with a splash in the corner and Jericho tries to apply the walls of Jericho but Benjmain rolls him up for a two count.

Jericho is up first and hits a clothesline and then the lionsault but Benjmain kicks out of the pinfall attempt. Jericho lays in some boots and chops and then jumps up to the second turnbuckle. He dives down to Benjamin who catches him and hits the champion with a t-bone suplex. Benjamin hooks the leg and gets the 3! Shelton Benjamin wins the Intercontinental Championship tonight! Not a bad way to start the show. After the match Jericho puts the title belt over Benjmains shoulder and shakes his hand. Not a lot of chemistry between these two men. But did they know they would be fighting tonight?

Rating: 6.5/10

Todd Grisham is backstage with the three candidates for the World Heavyweight title match tonight. Edge says that he won the triple threat match on Raw last night and tonight he would leave with his head held high. Benoit says that he has made Triple H tap out before and he’ll do it again tonight. Shawn Michaels says he has got an injury but he’ll leave everything out in the ring if you vote for him.

It’s now time to find out who will face Triple H tonight. Coach asks the live audience first (and so far the audience have got it right every time) and they sound like they want Shawn Michaels tonight. We go to the voting and Shawn Michaels wins with 39%. Edge is second, interestingly. Backstage Edge walks off but Benoit wishes Michaels luck.

Trish Stratus (c) vs. Victoria vs. Stacy Keibler vs. Nidia vs. Gail Kim vs. Jazz vs. Molly Holly – Fulfil your fantasy battle royal for the WWE Women’s Championship

The seven girls walk out in their schoolgirl uniforms. This is Trish Stratus’ 28th PPV matches, more than any other female in history. Stacy is extremely popular. IT’s going to be hard to keep up with this in the early going as all 7 girls go at it. Molly Holly and Stacy Keibler go at it in one corner. Jazz lays into Nidia. Jazz rips off Nidia‘s top and then eliminates her from the match. Victoria then eliminates Jazz. Gail Kim and Victoria go at it and then Victoria eliminates Gail Kim from the match. Four left with Trish, Stacy, Victoria and Molly. A fairly predictable final four. Molly chokes Victoria in one corner whilst Stacy lays into Trish in another. Molly then helps out Trish and the two attempt to suplex Stacy out of the match but victoria saves her!

Victoria attempts to eliminate Molly Holly whilst Stacy chokes Trish with her boot. Trish hits a reverse elbow on Stacy and then saves Molly from potential elimination. Trish and Molly then catapult Victoria out of the match. Molly hits a snap suplex on Stacy and Trish then chokes Stacy with a hair ribbon. Jerry Lawler just said that he;s sometimes fond of double teaming. Stacy manages to fight both girls off, hitting both with big boots. Stacy then nearly eliminates Trish but Molly eliminates Stacy to boo’s. Trish then quickly eliminates Molly Holly and this one is all over. Trish Stratus win the match and retains her Women’s Championship.

Rating: 3.75/10

Todd Grisham is backstage with La Resistance who have just found out who they’ll be defending their titles against tonight. Rob Conway isn’t happy and says it’s all part of the corrupt American system. They’ll wrestle the match under protest against the men that they won the titles from.

There’s a video package next showing the history between Kane and Gene Snitsky. It wasn’t his fault. We then go to Coach to find out whether it’ll be the lead pipe, steel chair or chain which will be legal to use in this match. The crowd are hoping for the chain and it’s the chain that wins with 41%.

Kane vs. Gene Snitsky – Weapon of choice match

This is a pay per view debut for Snitsky who goes up against Kane, a man that is 3rd of all time for PPV matches, 7th of all time for PPV wins (with 29) but second of all time for PPV losses (with 45). Lita follows Kane out, they’ve become quite close since she lost her baby. The chain is dropped in the middle of the ring and both men go for it before Kane throws it out of the ring. The two men the slug it out until Snitsky bails from the ring. Kane follows and grabs the chain and swings it at Snitsky who ducks. Snitsky throws Kane back in the ring and grabs the chain for himself. Kane hits an uppercut and then clotheslines Snitsky with the chain. Kane wraps the chain around his fist and smashes Snitsky with it. I wonder if Matt Hardy hasn’t got injured, would he have been the one to cause the miscarriage?

Snitsky cracks Kane into the ringpost and then lays in some boots. Back in the ring and Snitsky whips Kane with the chain. Snitsky then chokes Kane with the chain. Lita looks concerned on the outside. Kane hits some big uppercuts but Snitsky hits a knee and drops Kane back down to the canvas. Snitsky doesn’t have many moves to his arsenal, just knees, elbows and right hands. And a boot. Oh there we go, Snitsky hits a powerslam and then drops a couple of elbows for a near fall. The two men slug it out and then Snitsky hits a big clothesline for a near fall. Snitsky then uses the chain to whip Kane again before choking the big red machine again. Kane fights out of the choke and then lays in some right hands but Snitsky reverses an Irish whip and hits a sidewalk slam for a two count.

Kane sits up and hits some right hands before both men hit each other with big boots. Kane sits up again and Lita grabs the chain before Snitsky can. Kane then sets Snitsky up for a chokeslam but Snitsky tries to fight out of it. Kane throws Snitsky out of the ring and then follows him out, grabbing the chain. Snitsky kicks the steps into Kane and then grabs a steel chair before smashing it into the face of Kane. Surely Snitsky isn’t allowed to use the chair? What was the point in the vote if he can use the chair? Back in the ring and Snitsky hits Kane with the chair another three times. Snitsky grabs the chain again and wraps it around Kane’s neck whilst laying into him with right hands. Snitsky chokes Kane with the chair and then sets up Kane’s head in the chair. Snitsky goes up to the middle rope and then stomps down on the chair.

Kane is spitting up a lot of blood now and the referee calls for EMT’s. The match has apparently ended. I have no idea who the winner is. Snitsky is back anyway and pins Kane (did he forget to do it before?). I don’t know. Snitsky gets the three anyway and beats Kane tonight. Kane gets taken away on a stretcher which Snitsky comes back out and tips over. The match wasn’t too bad until Snitsky started using the chair. How was the chair legal? The ending was pretty terrible so it drops a few marks.

Todd Grisham is backstage with Edge who isn’t happy that the fans picked Shawn Michaels tonight. Edge says it was his destiny to win the World Heavyweight Championship not to win the World Tag Team Championships that he’s already won 10 times before.

Over to Coach tonight who needs to announce what the loser will be doing after their match next. Will Eric Bischoff or Eugene be wearing a dress? Will they be the other persons servant for a month? Or will they have their head shaved bald? Apparently we’re not going to find out yet.

Eugene vs. Eric Bischoff

It’s a first time match between this uncle and nephew. Bischoff is wearing a black martial arts outfit. Bischoff attacks Eugene as he gets into the ring and then lays in some kicks and stomps. Bischoff tries smashing Eugene’s head into the top turnbuckle but Eugene no-sells. Bischoff then says his knee has gone but suckers Eugene into it and kicks him in the face. Eugene no-sells again and lays in some lefts and rights. Eugene then executes an airplane spin, a big boot and then a big legdrop. Eugene hooks the leg and it’s all over. Eugene wins the match!

We then find out what the stipulation is and Coach doesn’t seem happy about it. And with 59%, Bischoff has to get his head shaved bald. Coach makes his way to the ring and asks the audience which they want to see. Why does it matter? Coach says that it’s obvious that the fans want to see Bischoff wear a dress. No he mis-heard them, the fans want Bischoff to be Eugene’s servant for a month. Coach says he has the authority and that Bischoff has to be Eugene’s servant for 5 minutes. But out comes Vince McMahon! McMahon says that it was down to the people and Bischoff is getting his head shaved. Bischoff refuses and McMahon says that if he walks out then he’s fired. Bischoff sits down in the barber chair and Eugene shaves Bischoffs head! McMahon then checks out the dress and tells Coach that it’s in his size. McMahon tells Coach to take off his shirt and pants and tells him to put on the dress, which he does! McMahon then mocks Bischoff for being grey under his black hair.

Rating: N/A

Shawn Michaels is getting his knee taped up backstage. Edge shows up and tells Shawn Michaels that he can’t wrestle tonight and Michaels is a self son of a bitch for not dropping out. Edge is well and truly heel now.

La Resistance (Sylvain Grenier & Rob Conway) (c) vs. Chris Benoit & Edge – World Tag Team Championship Match

This is the second time these two teams have met on pay per view. Benoit and Edge beat Grenier and Conway at Bad Blood by disqualification when Kane got involved. La Resistance have defended their titles on pay per view more times than any other current champion in the WWE. They have retained their titles three times against the likes of Eugene and Ric Flair, Tajiri and Rhyno and Chris Benoit and Edge. Grenier comes out and sings “Oh Canada” terribly before the match. Edge attacks Rob Conway when he has his back turned and lays into him early with right hands. Edge is a ten time tag team champion. Conway hits some right hands of his own but Edge hits him with a clothesline in the corner. Edge tags Benoit who hits some big right hands and chops. Benoit hits a short arm clothesline. He’s he only man wrestling on the show tonight that is deceased (as of writing).

Benoit tags Edge back in. This is Edges 60th WWE PPV of 171 PPVs up to now. Conway tags in Grenier who hits a suplex but misses with an elbow drop. Edge hits a suplex of his own and then goes up top but instead drops down to talk smack to some fans. Grenier goes outside but Edge lays into him before throwing him back into the ring. Edge tags in Benoit who tells him to focus. Benoit hits a side suplex on Grenier for a near fall and then a backbreaker for another near fall. The two men botch some sort of flapjack or back body drop and then Benoit goes back to work on Grenier before tagging in Edge. Only 9 men in history have fought more PPV matches than Edge. Grenier tags in Rob Conway. If Edge wins tonight then he’ll go joint 7th of all time for PPV wins along with Kane and Shawn Michaels. If he loses then he’ll go joint 9th of all time for most PPV losses along with The Big Show.

All four men go at it on the outside until Conway throws Edge back in. Conway tags in Grenier who hits Edge with a knee drop for a near fall. Grenier then applies a chinlock which Edge attempts to get out of but Grenier takes him back down. Grenier tags in Conway and the World tag team champions hit a double suplex for a near fall. Grenier waves the flag on the apron and Conway then chokes Edge on the middle rope. The two men slug it out until Conway pokes Edge in the eye. Conway tags in Grenier who gets caught with a clothesline from Edge. Edge makes the hot tag to Benoit who lays into Grenier but Conway distracts him and Grenier Irish whips Benoit into the corner sternum first. Grenier tags in Conway who stomps away at Benoit and then chokes him in the corner. Some classic heel tactics as Conway distracts the referee and Grenier lays into Benoit.

Conway applies a front facelock on Benoit but Benoit gets out of it and hits a German suplex. Benoit tags in Edge but the referee doesn’t see it because he’s distracted by Grenier. Edge takes him time getting out of the ring and then leaves and walks to the back! Grenier chokes Benoit on the middle rope and then hits a suplex. Edge grabs his bag backstage and leaves the arena! Back in the ring Grenier has a chinlock applied which Benoit gets out of. Grenier hits an elbow and goes up top but Benoit crotches him up there and hits a superplex. Benoit then shoves Grenier into Conway and then goes after both men! Benoit hits two German suplexes on Conway and then applies the Crippler Crossface! Conway taps out! Chris Benoit and Edge have won the match and become World Tag Team Champions! Benoit did it on his own but Edge technically won the match too!

Todd Grisham is backstage with Triple H, asking him if his strategy change because Shawn Michaels is injured. Triple H doesn’t believe Michaels is injured and he won’t be letting his guard down tonight. Triple H says that if Michaels leg isn’t broken then it will be tonight.

There’s a VT up next for Christy Hemme and Carmella, the final two in the first ever (televised) diva search. Christy won the diva search and now the two meet tonight.

Christy and Carmella are bought out and Coach asks which match the fans want to see them fight in. The crowd are definitely wanting to see a lingerie pillow fight. They’ve been spot on every time and they are again. 57% vote for the lingerie pillow fight.

Christy Hemme vs. Carmella – Lingerie Pillow Fight

The two girls get dressed in backlit cubicles so you can see outlines of them getting changed. Carmella is ready first and marches down to the ring. Christy is definitely more into it than Carmella was. The winner is determined by pinfall. The two girls take off their robes and Christy then takes out one of Carmella’s chicken fillets and throws it into the crowd. The two girls then to at it with pillows. Feathers flying everywhere. Christy takes down Carmella and chokes her. The two girls roll around and there’s more shoving. Christy hits Carmella with a pillow and then pins her and it’s over. Christy wins. The match is terrible.

Rating: 0.75/10

Triple H (c) vs. Shawn Michaels – World Heavyweight Championship Match

So the World title isn’t going on last? Flair and Orton are? Bizarre. This is the fifth singles match between these two men. Previously Triple H has won 2, Michaels has won 1 and they drew the other. Michaels hobbles down to ringside, selling the leg injury. This is Triple H’s first PPV defence since he beat Randy Orton for the title at Unforgiven a couple of months ago. The two men slug it out in the early going and Triple H exits the ring. Back in the ring and Michaels taken down the World Heavyweight Champion with a chop. Triple H then goes after the injured knee of Michaels. Michaels hits some right hands and chops but Triple H goes right back after the injured knee. Triple H drops an elbow on Michaels injured knee and the referee asks Shawn if he should end the match. Michaels says no.

Triple H executes a knee drop on Michaels injured knee and then applies a leglock. Triple H then applies a figure four and the way this match is going, this could be it. I think Chris Jericho is the only man I’ve seen tap out to a figure four. Michaels tells the referee not to ring the bell. Michaels is pretty close to the ropes and finally reaches them to break the hold. Triple H attempts to smash Michaels knee off the ring post but Shawn counters it and smashes Triple H’s head off the post instead. Michaels hits chops and right hands but Triple H drops Michaels back down to the canvas. Michaels catapults Triple H into the corner and both men struggle to get to their feet. Michaels hits a couple of inverted atomic drops and then a clothesline. Michaels hits more chops and right hands, using the ropes to stand up.

Michaels takes Triple H down with a right hands but falls to the ground with him and gets a near fall. Triple H then sets up for a pedigree but Michaels hits him with a low blow that the referee doesn’t see and then Shawn hits a DDT. Michaels slowly goes up to the top turnbuckle and flies off with an elbow drop. Michaels then motions for sweet chin music but out comes Batista! Michaels knocks him off with a right hand and then hits Helmsley with sweet chin music! Batista distracts the referee and Edge appears in the ring! Edge hits Michaels with a spear and shouts “it should have been me”. Edge leaves and Triple H rolls over and covers Shawn, getting the three count! Triple H wins the match tonight with help from Edge and Batista. Not the best match but some great selling from Shawn Michaels.

Rating: 6.5/10

Eric Bischoff is walking backstage shouting at people for looking at him with a shaved head. The future Mr Kennedy is berated as well as somebody I don’t recognise.

We see some footage from earlier with Shelton Benjamin beat Chris Jericho, Trish Stratus winning the fulfil your fantasy battle royal dressed as a schoolgirl, Snitsky using a chair to finish off Kane, Eugene beating Eric Bischoff and shaving his head, Edge leaving Benoit but Benoit winning the match anyway. Christy beat Carmella despite Carmella’s shoulder being up.

There’s a video package up next for Randy Orton and Ric Flair. Coach asks the fans what match they want to see. Falls Count Anywhere, Submission or Steel Cage? The fans want to see a steel cage match. The results are in and 68% voted for a steel cage match so that’s what we’ll see.

Randy Orton vs. Ric Flair – Steel Cage Match

It’s a first time match between these two men. I’m still surprised this match has gone on last. The match starts quickly with Orton knocking down Flair. Flair then hits some chops but Orton hits some lefts and rights. Randy hits a big back body drop but Flair is up and hits a chop. Flair then hits the most blatant low blow you’ll ever see. No disqualifications in a cage match though. Flair throws Orton into the side of the cage busting him wide open. Flair hits some more chops and right hands and then throws Orton into the cage again. Flair hits more chops and right hands and then rubs Randy’s face against the cage. Ric hits a knee drop and then a big right hand. Ric hits more chops and right hands. Orton fights back and then throws Flair into the cage. Orton hits some forearms and now Flair is bleeding. You just knew he wanted to get in on the action.

Flair attempts to climb up the cage but Orton goes up with him and crotches Flair on the top rope. Orton hits some big right hands in the corner but Flair hits him with another low blow. The two men slug it out and Randy lays in some right hands on the canvas. Orton rubs Flairs face up against the cage and then dropkicks him. Flair is up first weirdly and climbs up to the top but Orton sees him and throws him across the ring. Randy then goes up to the top and hits a high cross body for a near fall. Orton hits his trademark backbreaker for a two count. Flair hits a couple of chops and then crawls toward the door but Orton drags him back to the centre of the ring. Flair pulls some brass knucks out of his tights and smashes Orton in the face with them! Flair then covers Randy who kicks out at 2! There are a few boo’s from the crowd there.

Flair tries to get out of the cage door but Orton stops him again. Flair grabs a nearby chair and drags it into the ring before swinging it at Orton who ducks. Orton then hits the RKO out of nowhere and hooks the leg for the three! Randy Orton wins the match tonight. This match seemed short for a cage match probably because the show has gone over due to all the voting crap and divas getting changed. It wasn’t a terrible match though. Orton wins! After the match Flair and Orton shake hands and embrace.

Rating: 6/10

Well that was an interesting enough show. The results to a lot of the fan votes were predictable but I think the WWE engineered a lot of it without rigging the votes. They certainly helped steer fans towards voting for things like shaving Eric Bischoffs hair and promoted Shelton Benjamin in Raw main events over the last few weeks. Shelton did of course win the ballot with only Batista having any chance whatsoever. Jericho and Benjamin put on a decent enough match but I think with the proper build this could have been a lot better. Two of the best athletes in the history of the company. Shelton went on to win the match which may have been a surprise to many. I like this result, it kicks off the PPV with a dose of unpredictability and goes to show that anything can happen and it’s all because of the fans. Shelton could go on to feud with the likes of Batista or Christian going forward.

Trish Stratus then retained her Women’s Championship in a battle royal. The stipulation didn’t really matter, this was a title match and who left with the belt is all that was important. Trish won, last eliminating Molly which may lead to a feud between the two. Trish is red hot at the moment and better than she’s ever been so I like her as champion. Her main competitors at Stacy and Victoria but it’ll be interesting to see if they can ease Molly back into the picture. Gene Snitsky beat Kane is a surprising result. I guess they want to keep the feud going and the way the match ended certainly keeps it alive. Why is Snitsky using a chair though? What was the point in the fans voting on what weapon they can use when Snitsky used a chair anyway? Complete waste of time. Kane now goes joint with his brother as the biggest PPV loser of all time. This feud definitely continues. Eugene beat Eric Bischoff in a joke match and then shaved his head. The aftermath went of far too long but it’s always nice to see Vince McMahon. Bischoff goes back to having short grey hair like he did in wCw and this was probably the best way to go about doing it.

Chris Benoit (and Edge) beat La Resistance to win the World Tag Team Championships in the most surprising result of the night. Seriously, did they need to do this? They love oddball pairings. Obviously Benoit and edge don’t get on, what is the point in putting the belts on them? I liked La Resistance as champions. Benoit and Edge are now 2 time World Tag Champs together. That was after Edge left his partner high and dry. I’m sure the two will go on to feud with each other. With the trigger already pulled, I’m sure it’ll be over by Wrestlemania. Christy Hemme beat Carmella in the pillow fight. Jim Ross said before the match that the two haven’t had any wrestling training and he wasn’t wrong. I sort of feel sorry for them, the whole match was quite degrading. Carmella’s shoulder was up at the end, it was all a mess. Christy has a lot of personality and charisma so she’ll be fine. Carmella doesn’t look like she wants to be there.

In the first of the two main events, Triple H beat Shawn Michaels, retaining the World Heavyweight Championship. Why wasn’t this on last? Maybe because there wasn’t long left on the show and they knew they could eat up more time if they went on first. Michaels did a great job of selling his knee which I’m led to believe is a legit injury. Still, Triple H needed help from Batista and Edge to beat an injured Michaels. Triple H has eaten up most of the Raw talent, I genuinely don’t know where he goes next. Back to Orton maybe? Suppose that makes the most sense. Orton predictably beat Flair in the main event in a cage match. This felt like a passing of the torch especially with the embrace at the end. It was a decent match and there’s something magical about Flair going on last. Are they trying to sell to us that Orton has Flairs blessing and thus is good? I don’t know. I would have preferred it if the main events were the other way round in any case. This show could have been a lot better but the Kane/Snitsky ending was terrible, Bischoff/Eugene aftermath went on too long and the Christy/Carmella stuff was rubbish. Pretty much everything else was good though.

  1. Kane being injured by Snitsky here allows him time off to film See No Evil.

Also, this is Stacy Keibler’s final PPV match, but she will stick around making up PPV numbers in backstage segments until SummerSlam 2005.
