John Cena Goes To Hell. Tonight the WWE Champion Cena defends his WWE Championship in a triple threat Hell In A Cell match. COO Triple H made the match, giving both CM Punk and Alberto Del Rio their contractual rematches. It will be the first ever triple threat Hell In A Cell match. Since then the three men have been in a war of words but CM Punk and John Cena have been targeting most of their anger towards Alberto Del Rio. The world Heavyweight Championship will also be defended inside Hell In A Cell as Mark Henry puts the title on the line against the man receiving his contractual rematch, the man that Mark Henry has had the better of in recent weeks, Randy Orton.
The Divas Championship will be once again contested between Kelly Kelly and Beth Phoenix. Phoenix pinned Kelly Kelly in a tag team match that earned her a third shot at Kelly Kelly and the Divas Championship. A rivalry that has been raging for months has been between Sheamus and Christian. Christian cost Sheamus title opportunities over the summer and since Christian lost the World Heavyweight Championship to Randy Orton it has been Sheamus that has rubbed salt in the wounds of Christian. Triple H has made Christians life difficult, he put Christian in a match against John Cena on Raw, against Randy Orton on Smackdown and tonight he faces Sheamus.
One of the most confusing storylines over recent months has been the battle of the Sin Cara’s. The original Sin Cara was pout on the shelf by Sheamus at Money In The Bank (failed a drug test) and was supposed to be out for a month or so but returned a lot quicker. Sin Cara would then turn on his partner Daniel Bryan, unleashing a new vicious side. The original Sin Cara then would return and we would find out that the newest Sin Cara was taking the original Sin Cara’s identity, a vice-versa or something that has previously happened in Mexico. Tonight the two Sin Cara’s go one on one in a battle to keep the identity. Also tonight the Tag Team Championships are expected to be on the line with Air Boom putting the titles on the line against the new team managed by Vickie Guerrero, Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger.
In a dark match prior to the event Daniel Bryan defeated JTG.

Black Sin Cara lays in some kicks and chops and then hammers blue Sin Cara to the outside before hitting him with a suicide dive. The crowd don’t seem too into this match but it’s not too bad. Back in the ring and black Sin Cara gets a near fall. Oh Jim Ross is referring to the Sin Cara’s in the same way as me, blue and black. Black hits a backbreaker for a two count and then goes back to the chinlock. He breaks the chinlock and the two men then collide heads. Black Sin Cara avoids a handspring elbow but gets hit with a tilt-a-whirl headscissors. Blue sends black to the outside and then dives down from the top with a big cross body. Blue hits a roll up for a two count but black hits a powerbomb for a two count.
Black Sin Cara heads to the top but blue Sin Cara goes up with him and hits black with a top rope arm drag. Blue Sin Cara hits a big kick from the apron and then heads to the top and looks for a senton but black moves out of the way and blue rolls through. Blue Sin Cara then hits a sunset powerbomb and that’s enough for the three! The blue Sin Cara beats the black Sin Cara tonight. The original wins. Is this the end of this nonsense? We’ll find out soon I guess. Not a bad match but a hard one to get into which is why the crowd was so flat.

And that was Hell In A Cell 2011. It felt like a really good show. Loads of good matches and nothing terrible. It started well with Sheamus beating Christian. Not necessarily the match I would have had kick off the show but it turned out to be a good match. Sheamus won the match cleanly which to me says this feud is over. I feud like this would normally get two PPV’s but I think this will be the end of this one. The face Sin Cara then beat the heel Sin Cara. I hope this is the end of this. I actually think the hell Sin Cara is better than the face one so hopefully he’ll get a new role. It was an odd match to follow but it has been an odd storyline full stop. It was a pretty average match but not a terrible one. No more Sin Cara vs. Sin Cara matches please!
The WWE Tag Team Championship match was up next and although it wasn’t officially confirmed on Raw or Smackdown it was presumed to happen. Four very talented athletes put on a good match here. Air Boom won and you get the impression that this team might be champions for a while, especially after all the hoo-ha about voting on the name. I like the teams they have defended against and I hope that it comes back round to The Miz and R-Truth as I’d like to see them as champions. Ziggler is still United States Champion so maybe this will lead to a split in his team with Jack Swagger and a feud over the US title. Mark Henry retained the World Heavyweight Championship by beating Randy Orton. This was another decent match from the two. Henry won clean but there was an aftermath with Mark Henry being chased to the back by Orton so it’s hard to say whether this feud will continue. A decent match between these two men though.
We were then treated to a surprise, impromptu match between Cody Rhodes and John Morrison for the Intercontinental Championship. This was a nice way to get both men on the show but I think it’ll just be a one off. This match was ok but suffered due to a lack of story or build to it. Nice to have them both on pay per view though. Beth Phoenix beat Kelly Kelly to win the WWE Divas Championship. I was happy with the result but not the finish. Beth needed help from Natalya to win the match which seems ridiculous as Phoenix is supposed to be the most dominant diva. I like Beth as champion though. This was a decent enough match and I have to give Kelly Kelly props, she’s definitely improved in the ring. Much like Candice Michelle did a few years ago.
The main event was a blinder. I loved the finish with Alberto Del Rio locking WWE Champion John Cena out of the cell. Del Rio then used the pipe to beat CM Punk. I actually thought CM Punk would win the title. The one thing I don’t understand is why Del Rio lost the title to Cena last month just to win it back two weeks later. They should’ve kept the title on Del Rio. But this main event was great. A triple threat isn’t easy to do but they kept this one moving and anyone could have won it. A big win for Del Rio though and I hope he gets a lengthier reign this time. Overall a good show. Go out and watch it.
