Stat Pack Vol 7

All the stats from the first 35 WWE PPVs. They go back to the first Wrestlemania all the way through to Summerslam 93. From Hogan and Piper to Yokozuna and Lex Luger. Expect to read statistics on pay per views, win and loss records, average match ratings as well as stats for tag teams and even managers. Welcome to Stat Pack Volume 7.

Since the last stat pack we’ve had five pay per views, Royal Rumble 93, Wrestlemania IX, UK Rampage 93 and Summerslam 93. When the last stat pack was posted the World Heavyweight champion was Bret Hart. Well at Wrestlemania he lost the belt to Yokozuna but 20 seconds later he lost the belt to Hulk Hogan. At King Of The Ring Hogan would defend the belt against Yokozuna and it was Yokozuna that would win the gold and still hold it now. Shawn Michaels was the Intercontinental champion and he still is now but he did lost the belt briefly to Marty Jannetty. Money Inc were the tag team champions and they would continue to hold onto the belts until just before Summerslam where The Steiner Brothers won the titles.

Since the last stat pack we’ve lost the likes of Ric Flair, Koko B. Ware, Big Boss Man, Nailz, The Nasty Boys, The Natural Disasters, The Beverly Brothers, Kamala, Skinner, The Bezerker, Tito Santana, Jim Duggan, and Repo Man.

However the roster has gained a few new talents including Bob Backlund, The Steiner Brothers, Bam Bam Bigelow, Jerry Lawler, Doink the Clown, Lex Luger, The 1-2-3 Kid, The Heavenly Bodies, The Smoking Gunns, Diesel and Ludvid Borga.

Year Ranking

1. 1992 (52.8)
2. 1990 (50.75)
3. 1993 (50.6)*
4. 1989 (50.5)
5. 1991 (49.8)
6. 1987 (47)
7. 1988 (46)
8. 1985 (40.5)
9. 1986 (39.5)

1993 has made an impact to the top pay per views list, most notably the inaugural King Of The Ring going straight in at #3. The Royal Rumble PPV is the only other new entry to the top 10 and although the show was quite disappointing, the overall quality of the show wasn’t bad. UK Rampage was the weakest show of the year with one one memorable match on that show (Michaels/Crush). Summerslam and Wrestlemania enter the middle of the list in at 15th and 20th respectively. You’ll notice the * next to 1993 on the best years list and that’s because the year is still in progress. The final PPV review of that year could affect how that year ranks hugely due to how close the list is.

Most PPVs Wrestled On

1. Bret “The Hitman” Hart (28)
2. Hulk Hogan (27)
3= Tito Santana (24)
3= Shawn Michaels (24)
5. “Million Dollar Man” Ted Dibiase (23)
6. “Macho Man” Randy Savage (22)
7= Hercules (21)
7= Jake “The Snake” Roberts (21)
9= “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan (20)
9= Barry Darsow (Smash/Repo Man) (20)

Bret Hart finally climbs to the top of this list having only missed 5 PPVs since his debut at Wrestlemania 2. He switches places with Hulk Hogan who has only been on two pay per views since the last stat pack. Tito Santana holds onto his third position but he now shares it with Shawn Michaels who goes from joint 7th to joint 3rd having not missed a show in the last batch. Dibiase leapfrogs Hercules and Randy Savage but both men stay on the list in 6th and 7th respectively. Jake Roberts stays on the list having not wrestled in 1993 and Barry Darsows appearance in the Royal Rumble match is enough to keep him in the top 10 too. Jim Duggan is a new entry with losses to Lex Luger and Bam Bam Bigelow this year enough to enter the top 10 whilst no shows from Jim Neidhart and Jacques Rougeau means they slip out of the top 10.

Most Pay Per View Matches

1. Bret “The Hitman” Hart (31)
2. Hulk Hogan (29)
3. “Macho Man” Randy Savage (28)
4. Tito Santana (27)
5. “Million Dollar Man” Ted Dibiase (26)
6. Shawn Michaels (25)
7. Hercules (23)
8= “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan (21)
8= Jake “The Snake” Roberts (21)
10= Barry Darsow (Smash/Repo Man) (20)
10= Jacques Rougeau/The Mountie (20)

This list looks similar to not only the last one but to the same list in the last stat pack. Remember this is matches wrestled in so is going to be slightly different to PPVs wrestled on because of wrestlers pulling double duty. And that is exactly what Bret Hart has been doing recently. He wrestled three matches to win the King Of The Ring tournament and then wrestled two matches at Summerslam. Those five matches along with performances at Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania mean that Hart has flown up from 4th to top of this list. He leapfrogs Santana and Savage who only wrestled one match each in the last period and Hogan who wrestled three matches which was enough to overtake Savage but not enough to keep Hart below him. Dibiase leapfrogs Hercules as does Shawn Michaels who also overtakes Jacques Rougeau and Jake Roberts. Jim Duggan and Barry Darsow enter the list at numbers 8 and 10 respectively and nobody from last time drops off!

Highest Win Percentage (2 or more matches)

1= The Steiner Brothers 100% (4 matches)
1= The Smoking Gunns 100% (2 matches)
1= Mr T 100% (2 matches)
1= The Jumping Bomb Angels 100% (2 matches)
5. Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat 80% (10 matches)
6= The Ultimate Warrior 75% (16 matches)
6= Tatanka 75% (8 matches)
6= Lex Luger 75% (4 matches)
9. Hulk Hogan 72% (29 matches)

This list of babyfaces is an interesting one for me. It features lots of the new WWE stars which shows how much they are willing to push the new guys in order to get them over. The Steiner Brothers debuted on PPV at The Royal Rumble and have defeated The Beverly Brothers, Headshrinkers, Heavenly Bodies and were on the winning side of an 8 man tag. The Smoking Gunns are another new team and their victories in the aforementioned 8 man tag as well as a 6 man tag means that they are undefeated too. Mr T, The Jumping Bomb Angels and Ricky Steamboat all keep their places on the list whilst the Ultimate Warrior leapfrogs Hogan after Hulk picked up two PPV losses out of 3 in 1993. Tatanka and Lex Luger are two new stars with 75% win records, the only match they both haven’t won was against each other, when they drew at King Of The Ring. Hulk Hogan drops from 5th to 9th. Interestingly on the last stat pack it only took a 60% win record to get on this list but the bar has now been raised and it takes a 72% record.

Most Wins

1. Hulk Hogan (21)
2. “Macho Man” Randy Savage (17)
3. Bret “Hitman” Hart (15)
4. Ultimate Warrior (12)
5. British Bulldog (10)
6= “Million Dollar Man” Ted Dibiase (9)
6= “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan (9)
6= Earthquake (9)
9= Big Boss Man (8)
9= The Undertaker (8)
9= Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat (8)

This list is very similar to the Most Wins list in the last stat pack. Despite there being 5 more PPVs in the bag, it still only takes 8 PPV wins to get on this list. The only new addition this time is The Undertaker who, after beating Giant Gonzalez twice joins the bottom of this list with 8 wins. Hogan and Savage keep their places at the top of this list whilst Bret Hart leapfrogs Ultimate Warrior into third place. Ted Dibiase is the biggest jump as he goes from joint 8th to joint 6th whilst everyone else on their list keeps their place. Not many changes.

Most Draws

1. Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake (3)
2= Bad News Brown (2)
2= “Mr Wonderful” Paul Orndorff (2)
2= Don Muraco (2)

This list once again stays exactly the same as before. Lex Luger and Tatanka drew their match at King Of The Ring but that is the only draw that springs to mind in 1993.

Most Losses

1. Tito Santana (22)
2. Hercules (19)
3. Shawn Michaels (17)
4= Bret “Hitman” Hart (16)
4= “Million Dollar Man” Ted Dibiase (16)
6= Jake “The Snake” Roberts (14)
6= Barry Darsow (Smash/Repo Man) (14)
6= Rick Martel (14)
6= Greg “The Hammer” Valentine (14)
6= Marty Jannetty (14)

This is a real who’s who list of guys who lost matches. Much of this list stays the same and it now takes 14 PPV losses to get on this list as opposed to 13. The top 3 stay the same with Santana leading the way for most losses. Hercules is in second with Shawn Michaels, who is still active, firmly on their tail. Bret Hart stays in 4th but is now joint with Ted Dibiase who lost on three of the five PPVs reviewed. Jake Roberts, Barry Darsow, Rick Martel and Greg Valentine all stay on the list whilst Jacques Rougeau drops off and Marty Jannetty is a new entry following losses at Royal Rumble and Summerslam.

Highest Loss Percentage (minimum 2 matches)

1. Koko B. Ware 100% (11 matches)
2. Boris Zhukov 100% (7 matches)
3. Skinner 100% (6 matches)
4= Ron Bass 100% (5 matches)
4= The Bezerker 100% (5 matches)
6= Ken Patera 100% (4 matches)
6= Paul Diamond (Kato/Max Moon) (4 matches)
8= Judy Martin 100% (3 matches)
8= Kamala 100% (3 matches)
8= Leilani Kai 100% (3 matches)
8= Sam Houston 100% (3 matches)

This list has 11 wrestlers of all whom have a 100% loss record having wrestled three of more matches. Koko keeps his spot at the top following one more match in the last batch. He didn’t win the 1993 Royal Rumble. Skinner keeps his third place, now a position that belongs to just him following his loss in the 93 Rumble match too. Bezerker is another man who’s loss in the Rumble match raises him up this list, him to joint fourth. Also for the rumble match Paul Diamond had a new mask and became Max Moon which adds to his tally of losses as Kato and raises him up to 6th on this list. The only completely new entry is Kamala who’s loss to Doink The Clown at UK Rampage makes it three from three for him. The others around him all stay the same.

Most Main Events

1. Hulk Hogan (20)
2. “Macho Man” Randy Savage (10)
3. Ultimate Warrior (7)
4. Bret “Hitman” Hart (5)
5= “Million Dollar Man” Ted Dibiase (4)
5= Andre The Giant (4)
5= Sgt Slaughter (4)
5= Yokozuna (4)
9= Shawn Michaels (3)
9= “Mr Wonderful” Paul Orndorff (3)

This is the first time that this list has ten people on it, oddly enough. Hulk Hogan unsuprisingly stays atop of this one adding two more main events since the last stat pack. Randy Savage and Ultimate Warrior keep their spots in second and third whilst Bret Hart not only enters this list for the first time but goes straight in at number four. Dibiase, Andre and Slaughter and joined by newcomer Yokozuna who has main evented against the likes of Bret Hart, Hulk Hogan and Lex Luger in a successful 1993. Michaels and Orndorff prop up the list with three main events a piece.

Top Rated Matches

1. Ultimate Warrior vs. Randy Savage – Wrestlemania VII (9/10)
2=  Randy Savage vs. Ricky Steamboat – Wrestlemania III (8.5/10)
2= The 1992 Royal Rumble Match (8.5/10)
4. Randy Savage vs. The Ultimate Warrior – Summerslam 92 (8.25/10)
5= Hulk Hogan vs. Ultimate Warrior – Wrestlemania VI (8/10)
5= Mr Perfect vs. Bret “Hitman Hart” – Summerslam 1991 (8/10)
5= Bret Hart vs. “Rowdy” Roddy Piper – Wrestlemania VIII (8/10)
5= The 1990 Royal Rumble Match (8/10)
9= Sgt Slaughter vs. Hulk Hogan – Wrestlemania VII (7.75/10)
9= Ric Flair vs. Randy Savage – Wrestlemania VIII (7.75/10)
9= The 1989 Royal Rumble Match (7.75/10)

There are no changes to this list since the last stat pack. We still have a list of 11 matches that have been head and shoulders above any other matches that we’ve seen. Randy Savage participated in the top four matches which is pretty unbelievable. Ultimate Warrior was in three of the top five matches which is probably more unbelievable. As a big Royal Rumble fan, there are three Rumble matches on this list.

Lowest Rated Matches

1= Paul Orndorff vs. Tito Santana – Wrestling Classic (2/10)
1= Fabulous Moolah vs. Velvet McIntyre – Wrestlemania II (2/10)
1= Uncle Elmer vs. Adrian Adonis – Wrestlemania II (2/10)
1= Corporal Kirchner vs. Nikolai Volkoff – Wrestlemania II (2/10)
1= Tony Garea vs. Ted Arcidi – The Big Event (2/10)
1= Haku vs. Don Muraco – The Big Event (2/10)
1= Adrian Adonis vs. Junkyard Dog – The Big Event (2/10)
1= Jake Roberts vs. Andre The Giant – Wrestlemania V (2/10)
1= Demolition vs. Tenryu & Kitao – Wrestlemania VII (2/10)

For the second stat pack in a row this list doesn’t change! The nearest match to be on this list was between Bob Backlund and Damien Demento at UK Rampage 93 which I rated as a 3 out of 10. So not quite bad enough to get on this list.Overall match quality improves in the WWF and so this list doesn’t change.

Tag Teams With Highest Win Percentage

1. The Natural Disasters 100% (4 matches)
2. The Steiner Brothers 100% (3 matches)
3= The Iron Sheik & Nikolai Volkoff 100% (2 matches)
3= The Brainbusters 100% (2 matches)
5. The Legion Of Doom 83.3% (6 matches)
6. The Nasty Boys 66.6% (3 matches)
7. Demolition 60% (5 matches)
8. The Hart Foundation 50% (6 matches)
9. The Bushwhackers 50% (4 matches)
10. The British Bulldogs 50% (2 matches)

This list is just for 2 on 2 tag team matches. Not 6 man tags of 8 man tags just straight up two vs two. The Disasters stay top having won all four of their tag matches. The Steiners are a new entry at number two having beaten The Beverly Brothers, Headshrinkers and Heavenly Bodies. The rest stays the same except I have decided to rank teams higher dependent on matches. So The Hart Foundation sit higher than The Bushwhackers having wrestled two more matches and The British Bulldogs are in tenth because they have wrestled two matches winning one and drawing the other.

Tag Teams With Highest Loss Percentage

1= Strike Force 100% (2 matches)
1= The Bolsheviks 100% (2 matches)
3= Money Inc 66.6% (3 matches)
3= Power & Glory 66.6% (3 matches)
3= The Beverly Brothers 66.6% (3 matches)
3= The Dream Team 66.6% (3 matches)
7. The Orient Express 60% (5 matches)
8. The Fabulous Rougeaus 60% (5 matches)
9. The Rockers 57% (7 matches)
10. The Hart Foundation 50% (6 matches)

Remember these lists are for teams that have wrestled 2 or more matches. So that means teams like High Energy, Rhythm & Blues and The Colossal Connection are not included. There are a couple of changes to this one. Money Incs win over The Mega Maniacs mean they slip down to joint third as do The Beverly Brothers because of their loss to The Steiner Brothers. The Hart Foundation also join this list at the bottom due to losing three of their six pay per view matches.

Highest Average Match Rating (2 or more matches)

1.Ric Flair (7.14)
2= Sid (6.5)
2= Tony Atlas/Saba Simba (6.5)
4. Terry Taylor/The Red Rooster (6.37)
5. Hulk Hogan (6.34)
6. “Rowdy” Roddy Piper (6.25)
7. The Ultimate Warrior (6.13)
8. Lex Luger (6.12)
9. “The Outlaw” Ron Bass (6.1)
10. “Macho Man” Randy Savage (6.09)

This is such an odd list. It has people you’d expect to be on it like Flair, Hogan, Piper and Savage but then it also has the likes of Tony Atlas, Terry Taylor and Ron Bass who make up the list due to their participation in various Royal Rumble matches. Anyway, the top 7 stay exactly the same. The Red Roosters average takes a hit due to the 93 Royal Rumble but he keeps him place in 4th none the less. The first new entry is Lex Luger who after taking on Mr Perfect, Jim Duggan, Tatanka and Yokozuna goes straight in at number 8 with a 6.12 average rating. Randy Savage slips down from 8th to 10th after the 93 Royal Rumble also affected his overall rating whilst Ron Bass keeps him #9 slot. Hulk Hogans average rating goes up after matches at Wrestlemania 9 and King of The Ring.

Lowest Average Match Rating (2 or more matches)

1. Corporal Kirchner (2.5)
2. Adrian Adonis (2.85)
3= Velvet McIntyre (3)
3= The Fabulous Moolah (3)
5. Rockin’ Robin (3.5)
6= Judy Martin (3.58)
6= Leilani Kai (3.58)
8. Tama (3.66)
9= Nailz (3.75)
9= Billy Jack Haynes (3.75)

This list stays exactly the same as the last stat pack. Five of then ten on this list are females. Adrian Adonis wrestled the most matches with five whilst all of the others wrestled two or three. Nailz remains the newest guy to be on this list.

Bastions Top Ten

1. Hulk Hogan (15331)
2. “Macho Man” Randy Savage (11366)
3. Bret “Hitman” Hart (9475)
4. The Ultimate Warrior (8060)
5. The British Bulldog (5686)
6. “Million Dollar Man” Ted Dibiase (5497)
7. Earthquake (5175)
8. “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan (4953)
9. Shawn Michaels (4409)
10. Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat (4360)

This is the very prestigious Bastion top ten. It’s made up of a top secret formula that involves matches wrestled, win percentage, average match rating and main events. hulk Hogan obviously sits atop the list much like he has since the inception. Bret Hart leapfrogs Ultimate Warrior as Warrior hasn’t been seen since Summerslam 92. Dibiase overtakes Earthquake who wrestled his last match at Royal Rumble 93. Big Boss Man drops out of the list and his 9th place is taken up by Shawn Michaels who has been a workhorse recently, wrestling on the last 10 pay per views. Steamboat keeps his position in 10th.

Top 10 Title Reigns

1. Hulk Hogan – 1st World Heavyweight Title Reign
2. Shawn Michaels – 1st Intercontinental Title Reign

8. Ultimate Warrior – 1st World Heavyweight Title Reign
9. Hulk Hogan – 3rd World Heavyweight Title Reign
10. Bret Hart – 2nd Intercontinental Title Reign

There are three new entries to this list. Shawn Michaels first Intercontinental title reign is the highest new entry going in at second following successful defences against Marty Jannetty, Tatanka and Crush. Bret Harts 1st World Heavyweight Reign goes up from 10th to 4th after he defended against Razor Ramon at The Royal Rumble PPV. Shawn Michaels second Intercontinental reign is also a new entry at 7th following his defences against Crush at King Of The Ring and Mr Perfect at Summerslam.

Highest Manager Success Rate (2 or more matches)

1. Diesel 100% (2 matches)
2. Paul Bearer 80% (10 matches)
3. Miss Elizabeth 77.7% (18 matches)
4. Sensational Sherri 50% (12 matches)
5. Frenchy Martin 50% (6 matches)

6= “Classie” Freddie Blassie 50% (2 matches)
6= Captain Lou Albano 50% (2 matches)
6= Mr Perfect 50% (2 matches)

Diesel, the bodyguard of Shawn Michaels goes straight in at number one following Michaels wins at KOTR and Summerslam. Paul Bearer also had a successful run recently which sees him leapfrog Miss Elizabeth into second. Sensational Sherri managed Tatanka at Wrestlemania and with the Native American winning it means that Sherri jumps up from 9th to 4th. Everything else stays roughly the same but it now takes a 60% win record to get on this list as opposed to 40% as seen previously.

Highest Manager Loss Rate (2 or more matches)

1= Cowboy Bob Orton 100% (2 matches)
1= Jim Cornette 100% (2 matches)
1= Kim Chee 100% (2 matches)
1= Luna 100% (2 matches)
1= Oliver Humperdink 100% (2 matches)
6. Harvey Wippleman 88.8% (9 matches)
7. General Adnan 80% (5 matches)
8. Mr Fuji 68% (25 matches)
9. Afa 66.6% (6 matches)
10. Jimmy Hart 65.6% (64 matches)

This list sees a few changes since the last stat pack. Jim Cornette and Luna are two new entrants that go straight in at the top of the list due to their clients being unsuccessful in their matches. Harvey Wipplemans record also gets worse after Giant Gonzalez suffered back to back losses to The Undertaker. Mr Fuji’s record stays exactly the same whilst Afa is a new entrant. Jimmy Harts record gets slightly worst after he managed Hulk Hogan to 2 losses out of 3. Bobby Heenan, Slick and The Genius all exit this list.
