1997 was such a fantastic year for PPV but only up until the last 5 shows it seems. The last 5 PPVs really aren’t ranked too highly, with In Your House: Ground Zero being the highest new entrant, in at number 18. Survivor Series 97 is then the only other PPV to crack the top 35 which is amazing really when you consider some of the other PPVs from 1997. These poor rankings bring down the overall average of 1997 to 58.2 dropping it below 1996 with one PPV to go. It’s not too late for 1997 to become the best year for PPVs once again with In Your House: Degeneration X still to go.

Well for the second Stat Pack in a row this list stays exactly the same. Bret Hart wrestled on all five of the PPVs since the last Stat Pack and has cemented his place at the top. But the story now is that Bret has gone. He fought in his last PPV match at Survivor Series and now it is up to the guys below him to catch him up. Owen Hart and British Bulldog fought on all 5 of the last 5 PPVs whilst Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker only wrestled on 4. There are no new additions to this list although I will tell you that Crush is the man closest to getting on it. Tito Santana is the man that is on this list despite not wrestling for the longest period, it’s been nearly 5 years since his last PPV match.

This list is another that stays exactly the same as the last Stat Pack. Bret Hart leads the way with 11 more matches than Shawn Michaels who is in second place. Bulldog has doubled his lead over The Undertaker having wrestled two more matches than him now. Owen Hart, much like the previous list, keeps his fifth position with a huge gap between he and sixth. The rest of the list doesn’t change with the same, familiar named propping the list up. With only three members of this list on the current roster, it means there could be a lot of potential change over the coming Stat Packs.

For this list, we have a top 11. Max Mini is a new entry, he’s one of the new “Mini’s” and the face of the Mini’s Division. He has won 2 from 2 much like Mr T and The Jumping Bomb Angels. This moves the likes of Ricky Steamboat, The Ultimate Warrior, Hulk Hogan, The Steiner Brothers and Tama down a position. Doug Furnas and Phil Lafon drop off the list following their loss at Survivor Series 97 and The Undertaker drops off the list following a poor run of matches where he won none of his last 4. Rocky Maivia drops off the list following his loss at Survivor Series 97 but now Mo is joined by The Headbangers who have beaten the likes of Los Boricuas in recent months. Brian Pillmans win over Goldust at Ground Zero was enough to bring him onto the list in joint 8th.

Since Stat Pack Volume 11 (20 PPVs ago) it has only taken 10 wins to get on this list but finally there has been a change. Savio Vega is the new man to enter this list after he recorded his 10th and 11th wins respectively since the last Stat Pack. He knocks both Yokozuna and Earthquake off this list and joins the other 9 who have made up this list for some time. Shawn Michaels leapfrogs Hulk Hogan after winning 3 of his last 4 PPV matches. Bret Hart won 4 of his last 5 matches whilst British Bulldog has gained on The Undertaker somewhat after winning 3 of his last 5 matches. The Undertaker hasn’t won any of his last 4 PPV matches. It’s still something that after 75 WWE PPVs, it only takes 11 wins to get on this list. Hunter Hearst Helmsley and The Legion Of Doom are not far away.

This Draws list is very similar to the one on the last Stat Pack with the only exception being that Shawn Michaels has one more draw to his name following his match with The Undertaker at Ground Zero. That takes his draw tally up to 5. Paul Orndorff has the biggest draw percentage as 33% of his matches ended in a no contest.

Bret Hart keeps his spot atop this list followed by Shawn Michaels, which is fairly predictable considering how many PPV matches they’ve had. Tito Santana stays in third but is now joined by Owen Hart/The Blue Blazer who lost 4 of his last 5 PPV matches. As a result, Jake Roberts falls to 5th place and is now joined by British Bulldog who lost 2 of his last 5 PPV matches. Jannetty drops two places from 5th to 7th as does Hercules who goes from 6th to 8th and is now joined by Crush and The Undertaker who have both lost 19 pay per view matches. Greg Valentine and Rick Martel drop off this list and will be thankful for it. Valentine was on this list since the very first Stat Pack.

This list, like the same list in the last Stat Pack, features 11 of the WWFs unluckiest victims. The top 2 stay the same with Koko on top. The first change comes in the #3 spot as it was once co-occupied by Phineas Godwinn but he actually won a match and that was at Badd Blood when he and Henry won the Tag Team titles from The Headbangers so he drops off this list. As a result, Ron Bass and The Bezerker rise a position to joint 5th and they are joined by Leif Cassidy who lost his match to Tiger Ali Singh at One Night Only. We then have Leilani Kai, Ken Patera and Paul Diamond in joint 8th but they are now joined by Barry Windham who lost his match at Survivor Series 97 to get on this list.

There is only one subtle change to this list and that is British Bulldog, who main evented One Night Only against Shawn Michaels, rise up one position from joint 8th with Sid to joint 7th with Yokozuna. Bret Hart leaves the WWF with a comfortable lead on his competitors and it would take a lot of wins to knock him off this list completely. The Undertaker has closed the gap on Hulk Hogan and he and Shawn Michaels could be the second and third men to leapfrog him by the time the next Stat Pack comes around.

There are a few new additions to both of these lists. For the best matches, there is just one and that is the first ever Hell In A Cell match between Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker. A brilliant match that set the bar high for this type of match and of course featured the debut of the demonic Kane. In terms of the lowest rated matches, we got the second lowest rated match ever between Leif Cassidy and Tiger Ali Singh and joint third with the Mini’s match from Badd Blood. The Leif Cassidy match was a bit of a shocker considering how good his previous matches had been.

Just a couple of small changes to this list. The Headbangers are the only new entry, they have won 3 of their 4 tag team matches which include wins over the likes of The Godwinns and Los Boricuas. Owen Hart & The British Bulldog are the team to make way. The Legion Of Doom have gone down from an 86% win percentage to 80% but it doesn’t affect their position on this list.

This is an interesting list. A lot of the higher names have highly rated Royal Rumble matches to thank. Ric Flair being the exception of course, he could have a good match with a broomstick. Mankind has become Mick Foley due to Dude Love making his PPV debut and he rises from 5th to 4th. Kwang has gone above Kama and they have both risen above Steve Austin who drops to 9th. D-lo Brown, although yet to have a singles match on PPV, is the highest new entry, in at number 8 whilst Shawn Michaels enters the list at number 10.

With match quality getting better over the years it is very rare that we get a new entry to this list. However, this one is the exception to the rule as midget wrestler Max Mini is a new entry, straight in at number 2. And although his singles match wasn’t too bad, the tag team match we saw at Badd Blood was awful. And so Max Mini enters this usually untouched list at 2.

This is the big one. This really determines how much of an affect wrestlers have had on their audience. The numbers you see is a complex formula made up on matches had, match ratings, main events and win success. Since the last Stat Pack, Shawn Michaels and The British Bulldog have both leapfrogged Hulk Hogan. The only other difference is that Yokozuna has made way for The Legion Of Doom, both Hawk and Animal who have identical scores due to having always been in the same matches together.

This list stay exactly the same as on the last Stat Pack. The tag team titles have been passed around recently from Steve Austin and Shawn Michaels to Steve Austin and Dude Love to The Headbangers to The Godwinns to The Legion Of Doom giving the titles no stability. The Intercontinental title has been vacated also between being passed between Steve Austin and Owen Hart. The World Heavyweight title has had a bit more stability with Undertakers long reign and Bret Hart recent reign.
