Welcome everybody to the 18th Stat Pack that I have written and produced. If you’ve not read one of these before then you are in for a treat. This one contains all the statistics, facts and figures from the firs 90 WWE PPVs. The timespan it runs from is from the very first Wrestlemania through to the end of 1998 with the last PPV being In Your House: Rock Bottom. You’ll find details on match wins, title wins, best matches, most losses and a list of all the PPVs ranked in order of quality.

Last time I did a Stat Pack was just after Summerslam 1998. Since then, Austin lost the WWF title in a triple threat match and a tournament was decided to crown a new champion, a tournament won by The Rock. Triple H was made to vacate the Intercontinental title due to injury and a tournament was also decided to crown a champion, that tournament was won by Ken Shamrock. The New Age Outlaws are still the tag team champions, whilst fellow DX member X Pac won the European title from D-lo. Christian beat Taka Michinoku for the Light-Heavyweight title, Sable beat Jacqueline for the Women’s title whilst a new title, the Hardcore title has been introduced and was given to Mankind but is now held by The Big Boss Man. That’s us up to date, so let’s get to it.

There are five new additions to the PPV list and the highest is IYH: Rock Bottom which is the only one of the new additions to go into the top 20. Rock Bottom is in at number 6 and the fact that no other shows go into the top 10 is surprising considering how good of a year 1998 has been. The lowest is Judgement Day which goes in at number 46. 1998 is still good enough to be the top rated year so far after some epic encounters between the likes of Steve Austin, Mankind, The Rock and The Undertaker. 5 of the top 6 PPVs so far have all been in 1998.

This list ranks how many of the 90 PPVs wrestlers have fought on. Everyone from Austin up has fought on at least 1 in 3 PPVs whilst everyone from Bulldog up has fought on at least 1 in 2. There are some big changes on this list since the last Stat Pack. Bret Hart has been top of this particular list since Stat Pack Vol 7 (55 PPVs ago) but for the first time it’s Undertaker that sits atop of this list. Bret falls down to 2nd whilst the rest of the top 5 stays the same. Jake Roberts was 6th on the last Stat Pack but now he’s fallen all the way down to joint 10th. Billy Gunn goes up from 9th to 6th, Goldust re-enters the list in 7th joint with Steve Austin who goes from 9th to 7th. Mick Foley is a new entry in at #9 whilst Triple H falls from 7th to 10th. Hulk Hogan is the only man to fall off this list.

It only took 27 matches to get on this list in the last Stat Pack but this time it’s 31. The top 5 stay pretty much the same, with The Undertaker going from joint 2nd with Shawn Michaels to 2nd on his own and catching Bret Hart. Mick Foley is a new entry in at #6, he fought four times at Survivor Series 1998 to help his rise on this list. Austin and Goldust go from joint 10th to joint 7th, Randy Savage falls from 6th to 9th, just staying on this list whilst Billy Gunn is a new entry in joint 9th. Hulk Hogan, Triple H, Tito Santana and Savio Vega/Kwang all fall off this list. Randy Savage is the man on this list who hasn’t had a match in the longest, his last PPV match was nearly 5 years ago at Wrestlemania 10.

This is an interesting looking top ten. Christian has recently debuted and won in singles, tag team and 6 man tag action to sit at the top of this list, joint with Max Mini. Tiger Ali Singh has beaten the likes of Leif Cassidy and more recently, Edge to go joint third. As a result, Ricky Steamboat, Ultimate Warrior, Hulk Hogan and The Steiner Brothers all drop two places. Sable joins The Steiner Brothers in joint tenth after winning 4 of her 6 PPV matches.

A top 11 from the last Stat Pack becomes a top 12 on this one. The only change in the top 6 comes from Owen Hart going from joint 4th with Shawn Michaels to joint third with his brother-in-law The British Bulldog. The top 5 on this list pop up on a lot of these lists. Steve Austin goes above Randy Savage after wins over the likes of The Big Boss Man and The Undertaker. Billy Gunn is a new entry at #9 which drops Ultimate Warrior down to joint 10th. There is a big gap between 2nd and 3rd.

There’s a top 12 for this list. The majority of it stays the same but there are two new entries in The Undertaker and Glenn Jacobs (Kane) who drew against one another at Judgement Day.

Owen Hart finally goes above his brother Bret on one of these lists but it’s not one he’ll be proud of. Owens loss to Steve Blackman at Rock Bottom puts his at the very top of this one. Undertakers losses to the likes of Steve Austin and The Rock puts him in 4th place. Goldusts losses to Val Venis and Ken Shamrock take him from 9th to joint 5th with Tito Santana. Henry Godwinn is the only new entry to this list, joining Hercules and Crush in joint 10th with 19 losses.

There is only one change to this list and that is that Leif Cassidy, now Al Snow, is off the list. He’s beaten the likes of Too Much in tag team action and Jeff Jarrett. Wrestlers don’t seem to go on losing streaks like they used to.

It takes 9 main events to get on this list now as opposed to 8 which means Sid drops off this list. The Undertaker takes the top spot on this list after main eventing 4 of the last 5 PPVs. Steve Austin is now 5th on his own as opposed to sharing with Diesel after main eventing 3 of the last 5 PPVs. All the rest stays the same except for Mick Foley who is a new entry after main eventing 3 of the last 5 shows.

Well how about that for a list of tag teams. The top 9 stay exactly the same for this one with a few percentage shifts. The Headbangers drop from 80% to 77.7%. The New Age Outlaws are a new entry, replacing Demolition in the tenth spot following wins over the likes of Mark Henry & D-lo and Ken Shamrock & The Boss Man.

Mick Foley is in the top 7 no less than 4 times. That is unbelievable and a real credit to Foley who puts on awesome matches each and every time he’s in the ring. Aldo Montoya keeps his spot due to how well the Royal Rumble matches he was in have rated. Kwang is the man to lose his spot on this list as a result of Mick Foley going back on the list.

This list looks different to the same list on the last Stat Pack. There is a new top entry in Tiger Ali Singh who has had two really bad matches. It’s amazing that somebody so current can be top of this list. As a result Leilani Kai, Billy Jack Haynes and Nailz have all dropped off this list.

This top ten is determined by a complex formula of PPV match wins, main events and match quality amongst other things. It’s updated on every Stat Pack and there are a few changes this time round. Owen Hart has gone above The British Bulldog, Mick Foley has come in as a new entry in #9 dropping Ultimate Warrior down to 10th and Triple H off the list completely. To me, this list determines who really are the best in the history of the WWF.

There is just one new addition to this list which is the New Age Outlaws third tag team title reign going in at number 7. With their second tag team title reign also in the top 10 it means that they are the only ones on this list to appear on the list twice. They defeated the likes of The Headbangers, D-lo & Mark Henry and Ken Shamrock & Big Boss Man on PPV.

The final list in this Stat Pack gives us the worst managerial records. All of these managers have managed their clients to at least a 75% loss rate. Debra, who has been managing Jeff Jarrett as of late is a new entrant at the top of the list. Luna managed the Oddities to another loss putting her joint with General Adnan and Yamaguchi San managing Taka Michinoku to a loss puts him in joint 10th.
